You did notice that was Obesebear, not sl, right?

I'm really excited to see this project come to fruition. For all the work that goes into new models and the like, I think an improved framerate will make as big a difference in terms of making this game really feel modernized.

ALL BATTLE ANIMATIONS COMPLETED  :-D


Some are still not finished (about 25) but they are all singular models such as a manhole cover, pyramid, Proud Clod chest plate, (basically anything that is attached to a main model).  I'm hoping to test out Sl1982's old version on these to see if maybe it can correctly interpolate them.

Summons still need to be done, but there aren't that many of them.  Also, there has been absolutely no bug testing of any of these animations, so there's no telling which ones may have been skipped or looped when they shouldn't be (it's just so much damn clicking).

Hopefully some of you smart guys will come join the fun and figure out these damn .s files.   Until then, I'll finish up my end in the next few days and post what is done so far.

Holy shizz! This topic was just a tease for so long. First it might be able to done, then it couldn't be done, then it could, then it couldn't, etc. Then i saw your first I saw an update with the models you had done, and I was like well that's cool that there is some progress, maybe this will be done after all. Then I saw your second update, and I was like he is moving fast which is awesome, but I hope he doesn't burn out. Then I see that you are finished and my hype is through the roof! I would love to see ff7 at 60fps.

I'm convinced that this is a renderer issue. The exe doesn't handle the 3D models that I can tell, but I can't get a good picture of the stock driver to know how it works.

Well, the ball is in anyone's court who is good with decoding and assembly and such.


Small update: sl's old kimera was able to interpolate the remaining 25 models.  All that's really left are the models in magic.lgp

^^This. Also, my emotions have been on a roller-coaster ride for this mod. This is amazing news out of nowhere practically and makes me a very happy person. I have nothing constructive to say so, Good job and thank you. I look forward to the "ITS DONE" post :)

Sure, I'll try to get one up tomorrow.  I need to completely reinstall everything though, and i'd like to Graphic Overhaul, Menu Overhaul, Updated field scenes, Unified Model Installer, Upgraded FMVs, and the Team Avalanche models.   I suppose I'll just do a quick run through in the first reactor.

If you are going to install with Bootleg I suggest using 0037 though and modify the rest by yourself. Until 0039 is out with the latest fixes.

Well there's still the problem with the textures and limit breaks.  All of the animations in the magic.lgp need to be interpolated (Bahamut, Odin, Death, matra magic, etc), but battle models are finished save for bug testing.  Also, HBAA and RSAA have trouble, but just those two.

I think we may still need to find the values for Tifa and Cait Sith's slots so they will run at the correct speed.  And of course the battle square slots.  If I'm not mistaken DLPB or Kranmer already know these though.

I know what is wrong with them, but how to fix them program wise... not sure :P  It will need some change to the program... luckily, it may not be too hard!  I will look into it when the time comes.  Failing that Dziugo is god.

Honestly, if I can put up a video of the battle square to display Tifa's and the battle's slots functions along with everything else, I think it will make it that much more impressive.

What's wrong with them? Would another set of eyes on it help?

It is the fact they had to make inputs 4x less because the frame rate is 4x less.  Even with the new framerate of 60fps, the reels are likely to need reprogramming to the new framerate.

me, kranmer and Dziugo have since corrected the menu transition issue for Menu Overhaul mod.

This may be slightly offtopic.. But
DLPB, If the frames of the entiregame are increased to 60FPS (which i can only dream for haha) would you need to redo your menu mod which i have come to much to love.
