SOLVED: Cannot use 'unread posts' and 'new replies' links

I no longer have the option to check the posts I haven't read since my last visit or the replies to my posts that I haven't read yet. The links that used to be up at the top just aren't there anymore. I thought it was just a temporary issue at first but they have been gone for several days now. Anyone else having this problem? In the meantime I'll double check my profile and see if maybe I changed something unintentionally.

Firstly, this is probably better suited in Site Feedback, so I'm moving it accordingly.

Secondly, can you tell us the browser you are using, whether you've updated it recently, and whether you've recently cleared your cookies? Also, are you using any browser addons or plugins?

Can you provide us with a screenshot?

I don't think its the browser because it has done the same thing in firefox and internet explorer on 3 different PC's and also on my phone. I'll edit this post with a screen in just a second.

edit:

in that area where I have painted red it used to show my avatar and the two aforementioned links to unread posts, but now, as you can see, its just blank
