It's the strangest thing... when i use no plugin, many fmv sequences lack sound, but when i use the plugin the fmv sounds work, but the music doesn't.

I'm new to this forum, but i've been lurking around a little, so heres all the info that i think you need

Windows 7 Home Premium,
I have the latest version of Aali's custom driver,
I have the latest FF7Music installer,
I use the bootleg to install my mods,
I tried running as administrator
I have configured my FF7music.exe correctly, like this:

Does bootleg use songs from FinalFantim's remastered OST? If it does, and if it further uses my installer to install said songs, they're likely missing entirely due to a bug in the latest version of ff7music installer.

Do you have 7-zip installed? Download this, and extract it to your ff7music directory in a folder called "OSTRe", that should fix it.

No worries, this is my fault to begin with. If anything, I should be apologizing! :D

Nonsense. it's nice enough that you made this free installer. It's really going the extra mile to help people so promptly with the problems.

I frequently search for free, fan-made games and mods for games and series that i like (i.e. Super Mario Star Road, the Mother 3 english patch, the king's quest remakes, FF7 mods, etc.), and i truly respect all the work programmers put into these things, not for profit, but for intrinsic value and just to make people happy. people should ask for help if they have a problem with these things, not demand it. I do, however, appreciate your modesty.

And whats more, your help solved my problem. So again, Thank you so much.  :-D  this music is amazing!

If anything, you should be thanking ficedula for FF7Music, and finalfantim for his remastered soundtrack. All I did was pack it all together, because people were having a beast of a time setting it up (literally 3-4 threads a day asking the same few questions).

I hate to post in an old thread like this, but I am having the exact same problem.  I extracted my OST Remastered files to the FF7Music/OSTRe as Covarr said to, but that still hasn't fixed it.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to work, and at this point, I can't even get the original (PSF) music to work.  Basically, if I have FF7Music, I can't get any in-game music to work at all, even though all other sound effects and FMVs play perfectly.  I've tried everything up to and including a complete uninstall of FF7 and a registry sweep.  I'm at my wit's end here, and I'd appreciate any help.

Edit: I should mention that it worked perfectly the first time I installed Bootleg.  The ONLY thing I changed once I reinstalled FF7 was swapping out the Hardcore mod for the Remix's gameplay mod.

Try this: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13604.msg190524#msg190524

None of that worked unfortunately.
Trying to use the Remastered soundtrack.
