I'm not voting because I'm not gonna make an account, but how on earth could anyone say Portal 2 has a better story? Better game, maybe, Better dialogue, definitely. But in no universe does it have a better story. Character development is largely ignored for the sake of comedy, and the majority of the game is inconsequential.

as i have played both and not gonna think as a fanboy but i still think ff7 is better...i still really can't understand why portal is just so hyped up nowadays but i do agree dialogue is good in this game so voting percentage would be ff7 - portal 55/45

FF7 was FF6's story moved to a different setting, and with the significant addition of character motivations. In FF6, they did most of what they did because that's what came next (or in Kefka's case, for no reason whatsoever). In FF7, they all had personal reasons for their involvement, which is a pretty important factor.

That being said, IV had better character development still, almost to the exclusion of other storytelling aspects.

id say for the story ff6 is about 3rd or 4th on my list 1st ff7 2nd ffx and i cant decide between ff8 and ff6 for 3rd place
