Help with PSF music
MartynS1:
Hi
I downloaded the FF7 Music installer and its all fine, apart from a minor problem!
The field music starts again after a battle...ie, if you are on the world map, you get into a battle, fight..win..end battle, the field music starts again from the beginning. Now and again the field music will carry on from where it stopped but rarely does it do this.
I am using the mini psf files supplied, and currently tearing what little hair I have left out trying to fix this!
Also there a couple of missing bits...the part where you are in the dream sequence with Tifa and Cloud, when Cloud takes off the helmet the world theme tune starts from the beginning and not on the 2nd part. Also the Shinra Mansion music plays the whole of "Those Chosen By The Planet" and not the intro, which is just looped over to make a scary piece of music!
I don't want to use the OSTRe folder as I like the Playstation music (better than those dreadful midi files!).
Sorry if this is a duplicate post but I couldn't find any other post with this issue.
Thanks in advance for any help!

There is an option to make songs resume where they left off... but it doesn't always work right. Not much can be done about it, sorry.

There is no PSF for just the intro. In the Playstation version, they're the same data, and it knows to just loop the first part. The PC version of the game isn't this smart, and needs separate songs.
For my next release, I will rip the intro from the PSF and include it as a looping OGG. This should solve this problem.

Thanks Covarr.
I am using version 15113, is this the latest version?
Covarrfetch'd:
Yes, it is (though 1.51.12 is arguably better, I broke 1.51.13 pretty bad). But once it's installed and working, they are pretty much identical.
Obesebear:
what's wrong with the new one? I had some troubles with it not recognizing folders or even installing ostre at first. but after 3 attempts it finally did everything correctly. No idea why though.
