Idea for a couple of in-battle voice overs
TheyFoundMeHere:
I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this topic(if it's not, please tell me where I should post it), but I just had an idea for a voice over mod.
I was thinking that someone could take some of the audio files from dissidia, DoC etc, and make them play whenever the corresponding attack happens in-battle in FF7.
E.G
Whenever Cloud casts fire or any variation of the spell, he would say "Burn!" or whenever Tifa casts blizzard she would say "Wintry Breath.." just like they do in Dissidia. I think the same could also be done for whenever Vincent executes an attack using some voice samples from DoC.
I think this would be particularly awesome when they do their limit breaks(whenever they say their witty one liners at the end of their limit)
You could even add in some of Sephiroths voice overs for the One Winged Angel battle.
But this is just an idea, so I'm not sure if it would work(please don't be cruel if it wouldn't, I don't know anything about modding)
I also lack the know-how to do such a thing, so this is simply a suggestion to some of the more experienced modders.

This sounds like a neat idea hope this is possible :)

Firstly the idea of porting stuff from other games and stuff to FF7 is more than likely a big no no.
Anyways that aside I think there was some discussion about voice overs in general recently enough, last month or so. They looked into doing general voice overs but they dont think that is possible, but it might be possible for battles.
Covarrfetch'd:
Story voiceovers are possible (in a similar way to how ff7music works), but the only person who has tools for it hasn't shared.
As for battle voiceovers, a lot of sound effects are shared between moves, and any two players using the same move have the same sound, so simple sound replacement would have all kinds of overlap. There aren't separate files in the game for Cloud using Fire2, Tifa using Fire2, etc.
BloodShot:
This is one of the things I hated about dissidia. Whenever characters vocalize the magic they use it just makes it seem so cheesy to me. It's actually one of the reasons I stuck with the Japanese version of dissidia until way later.
I might be okay with it if Sqeenix didn't get such crappy english voice actors for some of their characters.
