I am trying to download this mod but there are nobody seeding the torrent and it is stuck at 62.10%

Looks like R05b will be up soon, so don't bother with R05.

< From the post above.  I am working on it.

However, I did give enough time for the people who downloaded it to be seeders... and they didn't bother.

If those aren't there then you did not install right.  As I wrote above, wait for R05b.

I am just reassuring people that I am working on this.  A lot of effort is going in to correcting mistakes and a significant rewrite is in progress.

Thank you. I'm waiting with pleasure for the new version and thank you for your hard work. Are there any way to assist you with that to help you finishing it ?

To quote Marin at the end of FF7:  It's coming.

But I do not want to release this and then discover some horrible bug.  I hate this part.

Should have a release tonight.  Kranmer has been really helpful and testing a lot as well.  He brought up the idea of just using dlls to inject raw.dll - but today I managed to finally understand how to do it properly.  So, basically, Raw.dll becomes ddraw.dll - and there is no more need to use hextlaunch or other fake dlls.  Joy.

I am just waiting to fix ddraw properly so that software mode and ff8config work (ff8 2000). Steam and Aali driver do not use ddraw.

We are almost done.  One of the final things to clear up is the presence of an alternate galbadia garden music in the psf files.  It's likely used in game.  It has an extra intro.  There are 3 galbadia garden musics

1. Music with main intro.  Heard once when you first arrive (FMV).
2. Music with no intro.  Nearly always used after the first visit.  This is actually still 1 on the PSX version but with a different start point.
3. An alternate version which has a new, very short intro.  Unknown when used.

W06 is HERE
Donate HERE

If you are not hearing the concert music at Fisherman's Horizon OR you still hear the original midi when playing the game, see the readme found HERE. Make sure you have the correct files (there are 10 of them) in root\data\music\dmusic.

Final Changes:

Quote
Roses and Wine has largely been recoded.

W06 Final 06.Jun.2016
1. Fixed Victory theme / Card music playing forever (rare).
2. Fixed Card game fade-in after victory (rare).
3. Fixed Mods de Chocobo music loop point.
4. German Steam version supported.
5. Game version option has been removed from the installer, as it is no longer needed.
6. Installer will check if the executable is in the game installation folder.
7. Other improvements to the installer.
8. HextLaunch is no longer necessary and has been removed.
9. Major changes to code. Numerous smaller fixes made.
10. Game Over music no longer fails to play. The Game Over track ID has also been changed to 254.
11. Fade in/out works a lot better. A small fade out has also been added when moving between screens.
12. Fixed the clicking and popping sounds when a new track begins, or when pause is used.
13. New Bass.dll and Bass code added. This mainly fixes issues that some people will have had with clicking/popping sounds at the music loop point.
14. Fixed Game Over music loop point. Originally an audible clicking/popping sound could be heard.
15. The form has been removed. This means focus is never lost on game start (this affected controller support due to a bug in Aali's driver for 2000 version). It also means global volume can now only be set via the 'Vol=' file in the root folder. It will only check this file on game start.  Win 7+ offers an individual program volume setting in the Volume Mixer, if you need better control of the volume.
16.Ctrl-D will display the Roses and Wine information in the title bar (requires window mode, and not full screen mode).
17. Tracks will correctly start from the beginning (I only saw this affect the boss at Fisherman's Horizon, but there may have been more).
18. "Movin'" music has been split into two tracks. One with the intro, and the other (track ID 253) without. This is to ensure modders can place their own loop points for it. Originally, they could not.
19. Overture music no longer loops.
20. ddraw.dll should be thread safe, whatever the hell that means. Apparently, I needed to tell Delphi compiler that there are multiple threads...  not that anything bad has happened before now anyway.
21. Tears of the Moon music originally did not play during the second FMV (the one where the monsters travel to the planet), because the music ID is 88, not 86. Kranmer spotted this - not sure why others did not :P These two tracks are, in fact, not the same piece of music. 86 (played during the first FMV) is the version seen on the OST, while 88 is a slightly altered version of it. I have had to use PSF music for 88 (with some enhancement), as the OST version cannot be edited to produce the same sound.
22. The Extreme music (final boss) intro can now be heard. It was already part of my music track, but the PC game has 0 volume during that section, so I have forced the volume to 127 at that point.
23. Added Galbadia GARDEN alternate music to the OGG folder (ID 512). I have left it unused, but you may want to use it. If so, move it in place of ID 75: '75 Galbadia GARDEN (No Intro)'.
24. Galbadia GARDEN musics all have slight improvement to their loop points (most people won't notice the difference).
25. Eyes on Me music (ID 255) is now installed by default. If you don't need it - remove it from the Data\OGG folder.
26. Alternate 'The Landing' music has been updated. I have hard limited it, and used a bit of equalization. Sounds better in game.

You do not need to use HextLaunch anymore.  Just start the game as you normally would once installation is complete.  This new version of Roses and Wine uses a proxy ddraw.dll.  Many thanks to Kranmer, who tirelessly tested this mod with me.

Kranmer has found a small bug with latest ddraw.dll - it's very small but annoying nonetheless.  By pausing on certain tracks (one's without a loop point) - the track will restart :P  I'll fix this later with separate ddraw.dll download.  Better off waiting to see if there are any more.  Most bugs should be very rare and rather benign.

Finally, main post has been updated.  There was a lot of outdated information there.

This is amazing. I just came here to see if there's a new version, and now i get this, with my previously reported issue with "Mods de Chocobo" finally solved, and even The Extreme (a well-known issue, wasn't that in the original, non-Steam version, too?), which i thought it was impossible to fix! And even some fading fixes here and there.

Too bad the Balamb Town and Shumi Village music bugs will probably never ever be fixed (i've even opened a separate thread, after you told me to do so back in January), but i guess there's really nothing we can do about this issue, it's how the game was (badly) programmed. Probably that's why nobody could even fix the few faulty sound effects with FF7 for PC, too...

I forced the volume to 127 with The Extreme - since it drops to 0 for the intro (likely PSX plays the sound effect sparately - but I could work around it.)  The music I released already had the intro.  But my new code is far more flexible and I could fix a few issues by forcing volume. I will look into your other 2 bugs.

I'll release one very final revision of Roses and Wine with any fixes - and with the hacky shumi village fix.  I'll give it some time yet in case any other bugs arise.

So far - Shumi Village music not playing the FH concert music (hacky partial fix)
Pause bug (Pause can cause music to play again when volume is 0 - or music is meant to be freed).

Thanks a lot for the improvements!

Haven't noticed anything weird yet, except one minor thing (English Steam version): After performing a soft reset (Control+R), the previously heard music kept playing on the title screen for a moment. It has only happened once so far, so I can't say for certain if this was caused by the updated Roses and Wine at all. At least it never happened to me before.

I didn't know they programmed that into the game - but it's a non issue really.  It will be caused by fact I don't clear the music under that circumstance - but as you saw, it will go away anyway.  Thanks for the heads up though.

edit.  It lasts a fraction of a second and fades out.  Def not fixing that, since it's about as good as it gets.

No, it was on W04 Final, too. I played through the whole game with it months ago, i noticed it many times: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13715.msg236167#msg236167

However it can't be fixed but it's not a real issue. Soft-reset is only useful to exploit the Triple Triad rules :P

On a side note, is it normal that the music starts a little later (maybe like less than a half second lol) than previous versions of RaW? Is it done on purpose?
