Awesome mod! Just one thing,  I have noticed that there are xbox controller buttons in the images but they are not loading in the game,  other parts are loading but not those,  is there a way to turn them off or on? Do I need to edit an ini?

It's okay - life has happened to me too, but it hasn't been so bad - just difficult.  I've been slowly chiseling away at these translations (the palettes are the real time consuming part) and Omzy has also been very busy, so the Translation Project has been idling for a while.  I just got some really great news in a PM, though - so now I have to kick some ass because things might be coming right around the corner!  You may be just in time, JeMaCheHi.

Hello everyone,
I've already contacted Omzy and Mcindus for this. I'm generating the hash codes and textures for the icons right now. I've already completed the french version and need the other languages original icon textures. All i need from you is the content of the "debug" folder in tonberry when you play the game.
Actually for the french version we have 1 texture with 9 variations.

hi, everyone. i'm italian and i'm speak with translate, i have the same bug of the other users becouse i'm using the italian version of Final Fntasy VIII. more icons aren't changed and the same things for the background menù. the problem is on the file icon Tex that has been created for Files English and Italian are incompatible with those. Mcindus can you create the file TEX for italian version plsss??

Hi everyone,
To use Seed Reborn with french Final Fantasy 8, do as follows:
1)Download Tonberry and Seed reborn from the first page of this topic. Read carefully how to put the HD textures in the game.
2)The folder for the icons is :FINAL FANTASY VIII/textures/ic/
Create a new folder called "iconfr". Then inside it paste the image below and name it iconfr_15.

3)The folder for the hashmap is:FINAL FANTASY VIII/tonberry/
You have to add the below lines to hash1map in order to use the texture.

How to use Seed Reborn with other languages ?
1)In the tonberry folder, change the "debug0" folder into "debug". Then run the game. Once the game has started, open the party menu (click on "V" on your keyboard). Navigate through some categories just to let tonberry scan the textures. Then click on ALT+TAB to switch from the game to your desktop.
2)Open the tonberry folder and switch back"debug" into "debug0". This is how you tell the program to stop scanning the textures from the game. Don't forget to do this otherwise your computer will slow down a lot!
3)In the debug0 folder there are different categories of "bugging" textures. Look inside the "nomatch" folder. You will see several strange textures. Those textures are not recognised by tonberry because they were not listed in the hashmap. Search for the icon textures. They all look alike but with color variations ( yellow, grey, red, blue, purple, white, black). There are at maximum 16 variations of the icon texture.
4) Send me them by private message.

I NEED these textures to generate the hash codes into the hash1map.

You didn't have to upload the 286 mo of the debug folder. I just need the icon textures in the nomatch folder. Anyway what you sent me is really useful, thank you.

This is awesome, Shunsq - thanks for putting it together.  This will work great until an official version of SeeD Reborn is released - as there needs to be several different pallettes involved for some of the animations to work properly, etc. but I do like your Master version.  I have all of the files for all of the languages to be hashed, btw.  With the help of some people, we found most of the files to be hashed for the different languages and I had sent the files to Omzy - but he's been very busy.  I suppose at this point, I could send them to you so that you can hash them.

Hello guys. Is there any way to use Xbox 360 button icons instead of Playstation?
And to change generic and confusing button names in the game? So to have X, Y, A instead of B1, B2, B3, etc..?

For the second problem there is a simple and useful mod for Final Fantasy VII. I'd do it myself, but I'm not able.  :-\

Shunsq the mod doesn't work for me . :'( I've paste the hash in hash1map.csv and in the folder "ic" i have created new folder and renamed iconit and paste inside the texture renamed "iconit_13"
What did I do wrong? ç_ç

Actually, you would need to have 4 or 5 master palette files because of how the game handles different palettes for different calls.  For example, the red gradient is pulled up for game loading and limit break meters, but the blue gradient is used in the game menu.  If you don't have at least two different palettes to call from, you never get the different palettes, and you're stuck with blue for everything.  This 'ONE' texture with all variations will also eliminate some cool animation effects that the game uses by calling different palettes in a row.  I know I went overboard by replacing all 16, but it ensures that there is nothing missing in-game.

I just finished all 16 palettes for the Spanish and French versions.  Moving on to finishing Italian and German now.

To Mcindus: Tonberry can't distinguish 2 palettes with the same grayscale.That's why i only have 1 texture for several palettes. Are you sure there may be multiple palettes for the same icons? I have to play the game a longer time to spot all those variations. Anyway if needed you can use different "master" files if they have unique hash codes.

To XxXManuXxX:
Are there other italian users with the same problem? Can you tell me what is the path to your tonberry and texture folders? Have you updated the hash1map?
IMPORTANT FOR ANY MODIFICATION OF HASH1MAP.CSV:
When you open hash1map there will be a prompt which asks you how to format the file. Choose all the columns and set them to be texts. Also set the comma to be a separator.l  If you don't do that all the hash codes will be modified with 4 zeros at their end. This is a limitation of excel( and of free equivalents).Indeed you can't write a number with more than 15  figures. If you  try to write 16 figures it will be changed to zero. The only way to prevent that is to format the data as text instead of "standard".

To Shunsq: my path for the toberry folder and texture is in the final fantasy VIII folders  and i have update the hashmap.
i open has1map with the notepad and i paste the hash you gave me
