Custom OST
« on: 2015-11-24 03:31:12 »
Hi all,

I've made my own FF7 custom OST from various remastered , remixes, orchestrated, etc., versions, and I was wondering if there was a way I could set the game to use those mp3 for the OST.

I have a replacement for every song of the OST.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

there are two ways.

1. if you not using aali's newest driver you can use ff7music. this was the only solution for a long time and it was never perfect.
2. if you have the newest version of aali's driver you can put your music in providing you name them correctly. iirc they go in  <games data folder>/music/vgmstream

I'm using Tifa's Bootleg mods... not sure if the Aali's driver is included or not.

Bootleg Configurator uses Aali's v0.7.11b and FF7Music.

7th Heaven uses Aalis v0.8.1b and the music\vgmstream folder. They have to be in looping .ogg format to play.

I strongly recommend 7th Heaven, or, at least, Aali's driver v0.8.1b; avoid FF7Music as it's full of bugs. I recommend moving away from Bootleg and towards 7th Heaven, as Bootleg is no longer supported and out of date by almost 3 years now.

I have the same question? I installed 7h, then 0711b aalis, bc my gfx card dont support open gl 2.0, and i have original music working but how can i make my own selection to work? I put my selection into music-vgmstream folder, tried many ff7_opengl.cfg options w musoc plugin line, copied music folder in any place i could find and nothing works so far. Can you help me?

The music\vgmstream folder is only for Aali's 0.8.x versions. You can use FF7Music with Aali's 0.7.11b.

I managed to convert my files in ogg format, but how do I make them in a looping format?

ogg is a looping format . you will need to use a editing tool such as audacity to set the loop points. im sure you can find the exact info w/ a quick search such as this

Whats the Format Quality of .ogg you save your files as? (1-10 in audacity)

I went with 8.

Are there songs that shouldnt be looped? (such as tiny bronco scene or the cannon scenes or the chocobo dance)
