Is a FF8 PC rumble mod possible?
« on: 2019-02-10 01:11:31 »
The graphical mods make ff8 look great, but I miss the rumble. I haven't been able to find a rumble mod, is such a thing possible?

It is - but like all things, it would take effort.  The rumble opcodes for field are still there at least and in the script (prob use the same func as battle)... so it would be a matter of adding rumble code back to the function that's been emptied.

1. Calling directx force feedback (creating your own programming solution - or stealing one already made).
2. Directing assembly functions to your new code (dll).
3. Tweaking until the behaviour is close enough.

Easier said than done. I'm going to be looking into adding some sort of FFB for FF7 Reunion R07.  But ff8 I'm not interested in.

Hello everyone, fan of FF and especially this beautiful FF8! THE game of my childhood!
My question is why in your opinion it has not been remastered or "rework" if we can say, as was FF9 on ps4? Because having the original version on ps1 we agree that it becomes more and more complicated graphics.
