Menu overhaul issues

I am trying to get the menu overhaul to work (the one from the reunion mod) but it seems to be out of alignment and the battle menu has some garbage on it. Also the colors seem to be a bit off on the materia. Anyone know what could cause this?

Some pictures, print screen key doesn't work with the 98 pc version so i had to use a camera:

Do you have the correct .EXE (probably ff7_mo.exe) targeted in your settings?

That definitely isn't the overhauled menu. Make sure you're using ff7_mo.exe or ff7_bc.exe depending on if you're using Beacause with it or not.

That's a very common issue reported many times before. It's usually related to the wrong .exe being used. Post your Profile Details so we can understand what other mods you're using.

I switched the exe back to the normal one as it wasn't working. Most of the other mods seem ok though.

You don't have Menu Overhaul from the catalog activated. How are you using it exactly?

Dodger, make sure you have the "Menu Overhaul and Beacause" mod installed+active.  I made the exact same mistake just a month or two ago thinking all I had to do was change which .EXE was running  8)

I turned it off since it wasn't working. Believe me, i had it on and was using the correct exe.

Well, posting your list as it is and not as it was when seeing the error is not helpful to solving the issue.

You should be using ff7_mo.exe with this combination of settings.  It's also possible that something didn't get converted or set properly (especially if you didn't use run the converter as admin), so it wouldn't hurt to run that again, as admin, choosing 'Overwrite' when asked.  That'll make sure your reg keys are set properly.

you should never use mo.exe . The materia stat values in it are different than vanilla/mods. bc.exe can and will run every mod in the catalogue with 0 issues and all that is required is the menu overhaul part of The Reunion, Beacause being on or off doesnt effect using bc.exe.

I guess I should just delete the current mo.exe from the game converter, rename bc.exe to mo.exe, and change the tutorial to state only needing mo.exe (renamed bc.exe) when using Menu Overhaul?

Ehh?  I must have missed this somewhere.  I'd be interested in knowing how that came to be...

True, though it seems as if _bc (and _mo, for that matter) is based on DLPB's Reunion work, and is pretty out-of-date compared to where he is today.

Agree. Easier to rewrite the tutorial and exclude mention of ff7_mo.exe for now so new users aren't confused, and then rework it once the new version of the mod/exe release.
