Security Warning concerning Paypal Button
« on: 2004-08-27 17:07:25 »
Anyone else been getting this?  I started getting this this morning, and it pops up every time I load a page on this forum until I say yes.  Then it pops up again if I visit in a new browser session.

(If I say "Yes," the Make a Donation button in the top-right loads, and if I say "No" then it doesn't.)

I reset my security settings to default and it's still here. :P  My campus internet connection has been a little wierd lately, though, so I fear something else may be up, though I have no idea what.

This is in Internet Explorer 6 SP2.

[Edit]
I don't know if this message is supposed to be popping up for me or anyone else, but it can be fixed by using http:// instead of https:// for the image src.  (http:// makes more sense anyway IMO...)

I get the security warning when I go here (uses https://) but not here (http://).

I don't get this message (also IE6 SP2).. it's probably related to your campus connection.

I used to get that whenever I came onto the main site while I was down in Florida for the summer. Are you using Win98?

If he has SP2 installed then it's XP.

It might be SP2 then. Im on XP back home, I dont get that warning anymore whenever I enter the site, only when I was on 98 Second Edition.

Well... I didn't get it when I came to the site just now... maybe it's fixed.

But yeah, I'm definately running XP, and I don't think it's SP2 because I've been running SP2 since the final version was released to beta testers (~ three weeks ago) and I only started getting this message today.

I highly suggest that you never beta test service packs for operating systems. You wouldn't want to reinstall Windows if something went wrong.

Hey hey... I'm smart enough not to install a beta service pack on my main machine. :P

I was in the SP2 beta program, but I didn't install a beta on my main machine until build 2162 (I think that's the right number, it was the last build released to testers before the final one).  The rest of the time I tested on a test machine or in Virtual PC.

Yeah I started beta testing at RC1 build (think RC2 was 2162) and it was remarkably stable.

Hah, really forgot to fix this one... replaced the bad image link (https) with a regular one (http), which should eliminate any security warnings. Sorry for the huge delay.
