all you have to do is to delete the old menu_us.lgp and replace the new one.

if it is not work, i think you should reinstall your ff7 game and place 1st the new menu_us.lgp

It works no problems, go to the PRP theard and find out how to run PRP without the exe. You just rename 00 and 01 to char and world_us. But still this shouldn't be causing a problem. What is your OS?

Edit: Here's my old Post "It's easy to use this with Aali's driver, or just without the launcher in general. Just rename the 00.lgp and the 01.lgp in the prp folder to char.lgp and world_us.lgp and put them in the correct data folders. it's real easy just experiment with it." I promise these avatars work

Just replace the files I said earlier and run the original ffvii exe.

Ok... this is going to sound sad i know....... but where is the PRP folder....... the only one i can find is in my programs and all that has is the laucher and config

Crowe it has been so long since I did this that the prp file structure escapes me. To find the 00.lgp ang 01.lgp you could always just use windows explorers search function to find them.

Okay i renamed the files... and now the game wont even start up... all i get is the black screen... and then it just goes back to the desktop.

And im not sure if this is what you meant by OS... my operating systems?

Processor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz  2.39 Ghz

System: Vista

Memory(ram): 2.00 GB
 
System Type: 32-bit operating system

BTW Kula_Wende... I think these Avatars are absolutely amazing ^.^.. You did an amazing job on them.. :D

Once you rename 00.lgp to char.lgp and 01.lgp to world_us.lgp put the char into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\field and put the world_us.lgp into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\wm put your new menu_us.lgp into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\menu. then run FF7.exe. pretty sure that's everything. make sure when you put files into their new location they actually end up in a real folder not the virtual store. When your moving or copy/pasting files in the program files vista will ask for administrators approval to proceed, if it doesn't chances are your putting files in the virtual store.

Use Aal'is custom driver, it seems to have less issues, and more features: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8306.0

Well here are some trouble shooting.

Did you configure the ff7_opengl.cfg by setting the resolution? just open with notepad (setting it to 1280 X 960 works best)

Did you run the .reg file that came with it? (use ff7_opengl_vista64bit for Vista 64)

Are you using the most up to date driver? From 0.6.1 to 0.6.3 there was a crash whenever you entered battle, fixed in v0.6.4

Changes aren't to visible, But it fixes all the issues with the minigames and battle swirl running to fast. Allows you to use any video format (well damn near any anyway) so you can use the HQ and soon HD videos made by Grimmy. Soon it will allow you to use high res prerendered backgrounds. And i believe larger textures (though the last one i could be and most like am mistaken)
