Final Fantasy VII - Windowed + Mods
« on: 2010-05-02 18:12:22 »
Alright, I finally found my copy of FFVII but...all the old Mod's and stuff, the link in the forums don't work anymore...and I was wondering if anyone here would be kind enough to upload them again, and submit the links... Mostly what I'm looking for is Avatar Swaps "Replace Cloud with Sephiroth" Generic "Character Editor" For stats and all that jazz...and of course, "Windowed" mode...If Anyone could help me I would I greatly appreciate it.  And If I've posted this in the wrong place, I apologize.  Thank you, Have a nice day.

Aali's Graphic Driver contains an option for windowed mode, and it is downloadable on this site

I ran a search and only came up with your post about the 64 bit.

Bah...I dunno if I have the right thing or not now, i'm feeling retarded...What is happening is, when I start the game I get this little box on the left edge of my moniter right in the middle where it shows Edio's logo, and by the time thats loaded, I am already hitting ALT+F4, I know I'm repeating myself here...but...perhaps someone could tell me how to make FFVII in windowed?

if you using the Aali's Graphic Driver, you need to follow instructions to a T, and edit the .cfg to fit your preferences

in your FF7 folder there should be a file called app.log, post that here and it should tell us what is causing the game to crash or not run.

In the main FFVII folder, there is a "Text Document" called "APP" but, nothing is inside of it...blank comlpetely...now, when I go back to Softare Render, or Direct X, it opens and gives me a screen full of black, with a little box at the left side to watch the game in but, custom settings seems to be hell for me.

have you installed the 1.02 patch ? 1.02 needs to be installed for the driver to work then set custom driver in the ff7config.exe and then run the game once and it should tell you whats wrong.

ok well what version of windows are you using ? also have you installed the 1.02 patch ? 1.02 needs to be installed for the driver to work then set custom driver in the ff7config.exe and then run the game once and it should tell you whats wrong.

I'm using Windows 7 and Patch 1.02 is installed, but I will reinstall it again and see if that helps.

windows 7 has somthing called UAC which can screw with the Custom driver installation, disable UAC first then reinstall Aali's Driver.
(UAC=user acount control)

ah good, that shows Aali's Custom driver is working. Now have you checked the folders in your ff7 folder to make sure those files are there, So go to your installed FF7 folder and make sure the file ffmpeg_movies.fgp is in the plugins folder, if it is you might be having the same weird problem that Eviscerate had
