All capital and small letters along with their accent symbols done! Now what is left for the fonts is to revise the special characters and create Greek words for "Slot", "Memory", "Card" etc.. I also need to edit the png files to translate them into the Greek language.

I watched a bit of the video -- did you guys make more progress?  There are still parts that are bleeding from what I see... some of your text is too tall and going up into the bottom of the other text now (mainly your lower case letters). But it looks like things are getting better!

What I need atm is a way to edit the start screen. If I translate the words can someone replace them?  (New game, continue, credits etc) Or at least guide me through to do it myself.

Oh man... I remember there's a thread about that somewhere... let me go find it.

These text locate in mngrp.bin
Here is my screen shoot.

By the way, I dumped the text out here, in case you need it.

Code: [Select]
#WRITE(MyPtr, $DD6)
HAJIMARI<end>

#WRITE(MyPtr, $DDA)
TSUZUKE<end>

I dumped with Catographer, and you can modify the text and re-insert it to mngrp.bin with Atlas.

Thanks 5way!  I just found it myself.  mngrp.bin in menu.fs and you should be ready to go, Leon!

Have you already translated the kernel.bin with Carbuncle for the rest of your translation?

Yeah, ready to go... for sure... M4v3R program, ff8msg does not support Greek fonts. Tried to edit the text but it won't save. Program crashes every few edits too and corrupts the file. Also what does kernel.bin contain?

I'm really starting to hate on latin alphabet after all this torture. I find it a lot easier to translate the whole game by myself than mess with the alphabet...

Links for Catographer and Atlas please. Do they support Greek characters?

kernel.bin contains all names of abilities/items/magazines/spells -- essentially EVERYTHING that isn't dialogue.  You can use Carbuncle to translate it to your own language and then export it.

Opened Kernel.bin with carbuncle edited the font table on the right column Edited attack=Επίθεση, saved and of course it didn't work.

Skyped/messaged waiting for response! Also posted in a Greek forum and waiting for support from people there as well. Time lag is killing me. I want to progress!

Copyright and copyright infringement notice are not the same thing. Also, what audio did you have there in the offending spots?

Can't really recall exactly which one, but probably some overclocked remixes. I loaded some tracks from a FFVIII remix random folder.

ffviii.m3u

Copyright and copyright infringement notice are not the same thing.

I've learned that already... getting close to become a copyright lawyer with all YT nonsense...

Fact is that I've never experienced any copyright notices on twitch before.

On the second and third muted part music was from DLPB's mod. The orchestral soundtrack I think.

Aight! Rcolly is another cool dude! I owe him much! He made a Greek version for Carbuncle but doesn't support any latin characters now. So it's hard for me to translate but "hey ho"... I opened 2 different instances to work more fluently. At least i can progress a bit now.

About the start screen and mngrp.bin it can gladly go f* itself in the bum since how the f* did you manage to read this Yugisokubodai and I can't?? I'm doing the exact same thing!!!

Oh gosh... whatever...

Never thought it would be so freaking hard to translate 2 words!
