I'm using steam version of FF7
I went through step 1 and did not have any problem with it.
The only guide i did not follow is not to install at program files. Steam would not allow me to install elsewhere unless I have other driver which I don't.
I tried to delete the registry key, reinstall FF7 twice, but getting the same error above.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks

program files is not a problem at all. just use for the gameconverter progra~1 or progra~2 (Depends on which program files you use).

it looks like one of your setting files is damaged. you can try to delete it

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\7thWorkshop\

Delete Settings.xml and try it again.

When you see the word "null" it means "of no value" or in other words, your settings.xml has recorded an area that has no value (blank) when its supposed to have something.

Insight is correct. Follow his advice :)
