I "believe" the permission set to ban is only in Admin's hands but I could be wrong...

Why admins when you can have moderators? There are already enough admins, seriously.

Three. Only one of whom logs on regularly. Plus, mod powers are gimped, and as the most compelling reason for granting another user sudo powers is the threat of Hermoor, our new staff member needs the power to ban at once.

Who's the third?   Qhimm, The Saint, and ....?

Hermoor doesn't seem to be a threat anymore.  We haven't seen or heard from him in a while.

Who's the third?   Qhimm, The Saint, and ....?

Aaron.

I think Aaron is the other one.

I'm hijacking this thread for a moment to do something that normally a mod or admin would do:

nikfrozty: YOUR AVATAR. IT IS NEARLY ONE MEGABYTE.

This is what the rules say about avatars:
  • Keep avatars roughly to the 6kb, 60x60 limit.
Admittedly, those rules are eight years old. But even today, that is a damn huge avatar. 60KB might be more reasonable today instead of 6KB, but 994KB is huge regardless.

If we do get a new mod or admin, they'll need to be up to the task of keeping an eye out for this kind of thing.

obesebear, the third admin is Aaron. He hasn't posted since 2007, but he logged in just two months ago.

You may now return to the conversation at hand.

I can only remember two or three members who I know are girls. But I don't think they can handle being an admin yet.

I'd volunteer, but I'm not active enough to be an admin. :P Not that we *have* any very active admins...

Hermoor doesn't seem to be a threat anymore.  We haven't seen or heard from him in a while.

Awww, don't y'all miss Hermie-Chan? ;D ;D

Not really, no...

I'm now thinking that Covarr would make a good admin ;)

Yeah. People in positions that aren't based on post count include:

Administrators
Qhimm
The SaiNt
Aaron

Global Moderators
Alhexx

Moderators
halkun
Mesden
jack.o.lantern
Timu Sumisu
sl1982

Jesus
Cloudssil

Suspended
JohnBrook (aka HAETTROLL SEIFER)

Warez User
Dark Butterfree
Art2Fly
broman0
marouan
kukuea
Vrangr
morus
phukk
Shinjoui

Interestingly, regular moderators keep their normal user title, and only have the moderator tag visible in forums where they have that authority. Also, I think it's too bad the "Warez User" title isn't really used anymore. Shaming people for failing to read the rules is fun.

I don't mean to sound noobish but what exactly is a Warez User?

I infer that is a title given to those who repeatedly break the rules to humiliate them; that is what I was able to collect from what Covarr said. :)

"Warez refers primarily to copyrighted  works traded in violation of copyright law. The term generally refers to illegal releases by organized groups, as opposed to file sharing between friends or large groups of people with similar interest using a darknet. It usually does not refer to commercial for-profit software counterfeiting. This term was initially coined by members of the various computer underground circles, but has since become commonplace among Internet  users and the mass media."

I found this on Wikipedia.

As DarkFang suggests, it's a label for those asking, despite clearly marked rules insisting otherwise, for help with pirated editions of the game / violating copyright. Basically, anyone asking "OMG!!!!! GUYS HALP ME I CARNT GET TEH ULTIMAH EDITOIN WROKIN :( ???!!!!!"

Three.
Most forums have no more than one or two, so three is still kinda above the average and no more should be necessary.

I don't even know of any of the warez users and since only one admin has been ever suspended. What did he do wrong?? If people don't want to answer this question just ignore.  :)
@Cupcake-Why is that?? Can't you link an image to photobucket or any site??

No, there's some sort of bug in the version of SMF being used here that prevents people who didn't already have an avatar from having an avatar.

I wonder why. I just changed my avatar and it worked for me. Have you tried other images?? And don't try uploading in the forums. It does not work for me the thing that only works is when I link a direct link file in the url.
BTW I noticed Completely Unrelated forums not having a an admin. It isn't exactly required to have an admin there but maybe just one admin who can help some newbies that post stuff there.
