And what does APP.LOG say?

*feels really dumb* i don't care if you criticize me but what is  APP.LOG???



*add on* and i found out that unless i play it as administrator in any version of the game (even before and after the 1.02 patch and Reunion patch) that i lag out and the game goes to the black screen and drops me to the desktop.... when i enter a battle i mean... other wise the game runs fine...

Ok.. i used the hi-res patch thing by Aali and it didnt work... like when i click exe.. icon i get this black screen and it drops me back to windows....

OK... i couldn't get this patch to work for awhile.. i mean it works great when i play in administrator, but when i play as administrator (I'm using vista.. and compatibility mode for windows 98 )  the high resolution works fine, but i lose the good looking character models... they go back to the 1997 block models..

But when i play it off of administrator... the character models are fine but when i enter a battle the game goes to the dreaded black screen and glitches out... I don't know if its the spinning screen glitch... i cant figure out how to work that patch.... Or what...

My system specs are:

Processor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz  2.39 Ghz

Memory(ram): 2.00 GB
 
System Type: 32-bit operating system

I was wondering that if you were to make a PC emulator.... i saw something about it when i got my PSX emulator... (i dont know if this is illegal, please tell me if it is) and if one were to make or use an emulator of XP on a Vista... then the problems go away..?

Sadly i can only get this patch to work while running as administrator (i'm using vista) other wise the game crashes when i enter a battle... and for some reason when i play as administrator i loose the detailed character and it goes back to the blocky 1997 characters... it worked fine when i first installed it... but then i did that mod that changed the spell names from bolt 2  to thundara etc. and then the PC crashed
and the patch stopped working.
I uninstalled everything to do with Final Fantasy VII and reinstalled to no avail... the only mod that i can get to work is the Phoenix Rejuvenation project ....
Anyone know how to help, I'd be grateful for any suggestions... ^.^

sorry i figured it out... i really ought to stop panicking every time i get in trouble.. i have made to many posts as it is...
I had to switch the compatibility mode to windows 98 and run as administrator (I'm using vista).

I have a memory card for the PS1 that has a save for every save i did... i wanted to be able to play any part of the game when i wanted to xD.... If its possible to transfer from a memory card to a PC id gladly offer assistance ^.6

I'm having  a  lot of trouble making the files work...  when i go to overwrite the files as it says in the read me  it just copies and overwrites nothing... I'm using vista and the its difficult for me to use a PC I'm such a newb

when i play using the patch...
i can play it only using the quarter screen icon even when i am running it in full screen.
I have it in compatibility mode for windows 98 other wise the mod wont work and am using vista

Have you tried changing the compatibility? That was my problem when i installed the 1.02 patch.

I had the exact same problem, but with all mods.. what you need to do is right click on FF7 run icon and click properties,  then click compatibility and switch it to windows 95 or 98. It worked for me... ^.^
The mods wont work on Vista otherwise.. well at least for me.

My game completely lags and drops during the first boss fight of FF7.. it drops after it uses search scope... i just bought the game and i don't want to see it go to waste..

P.S. Maybe its because i'm using Vista because i cant use a lot of the mods either... the only one that i got to successfully work was the Advent Child Avatars...

Okay. My PC cannot run Ficedula's lgp tools  i don't know why... im using vista...

i have down loaded the mod and put under  Square Soft, inc/ Final Fantasy VII/ Data/ field
and the mod still hasn't worked... i read somewhere that you need to open the  Char.lgp
i don't know how to do that... and i cant get various other mods to work.. is it because i am using Vista?
