Author Topic: Moguri mod messed up and won't let me access Memoria Launcher.  (Read 609 times)

A few years ago I had installed the older version of Moguri Mod and I thought it was great but I uninstalled it and Final Fantasy IX on PC because I found out that the team behind the HD port had reduced the random encounter rate when in dungeons which made the game a lot less fun for me.  I have recently found out that if you can use the Memoria Launcher to bring back the PS1 encounter rate so I installed that and reinstalled Final Fantasy IX to my PC.  Problem is whenever I click play on the steam page to bring up the Memoria Launcher this shows up. https://gyazo.com/b2b0378b312d85568aea941eb3ab812b

My PC is acting like I still have the old Moguri Mod installed (And indeed when I go into the game the PSX font is still there as well as the full analogue movement however the backgrounds are no longer upscaled).  I've looked on my PC for any trace of Moguri on it and it doesn't seem like it's anywhere for me to uninstall whatever residual file is left on it.  As the new version of Moguri is included in the Memoria launcher and I can't access the Memoria Launcher despite installing it I don't know what I can do to fix this.  Does anyone here know what I can do?

Duplicate the file "FF9_Launcher.bak" in your game's folder and rename the duplicate as "FF9_Launcher.fix".
If you don't find "FF9_Launcher.bak", then duplicate "FF9_Launcher.exe" instead (and still rename it "FF9_Launcher.fix").

That is most likely because you uninstalled the game without disabling the "Fix Steam Overlay" option.

That got it fixed!  Thank you so much! :)
