With projects like this it's not uncommon for people to just disappear and not continue their work. A lot of them never come back to the forum at all... But all of them are doing this in their spare time after all, so you can't blame them.

Anyway, great to hear from you again and that you still care about the project at all.

Get 7th Heaven (Mod Manager for FF VII) and download the catalog, it contains most of the essential mods you can get at the moment.

It would be bad if they removed the world map and turned it into a FFX style game where you'll just select what location to go to by airship.
I'm afraid that's exactly the route they will go. I can't imagine them re-doing the complete world map considering the more realistic art style they are going for. Also since they are going episodic they would have to face a completely new challenge to block off the areas you're not supposed to go to yet in a specific episode.

your latest scene is again wonderful! I am sorry it does feel it takes forever to redo the game. You are incredibly fast but you are still alone at the moment. But I hope DynamixDJ can become a valid asset soon! He can learn a lot from you and has already produced a nice work!

Too bad everyone else who was capable has for some reason stopped recreating scenes, so jmp343 and DynamixDJ are our only hope at the moment, lol. Please keep up the amazing work, guys. :)

For some reason my game still shows the Waifu upscaled fields from 7th Heaven instead... How do set the game up to prioritize the textures I put in the textures folder?

Yeah, I have a mods folder in my game folder. So the structure is like follows for all the field textures: [game root]\Mods\SYW\Field\ ?

I think anime looks good enough... Apart from the fact that the "photo" version is a little blurrier the difference seems really minor.

I've been playing this version, one thing I really dislike is that the music restarts from the beginning after every battle. Was this in the PC version too?
That's a pretty major flaw indeed, but a lot of people probably didn't even notice it so I don't think it will get patched. In the PC version it does NOT reset.

Another point is that since the news of the remake of FFVII everything feels like a waste of time, and it takes a lot of time to recreate a scene in full glory.


Please don't feel discouraged. There IS a relevance and importance for yours, Mayo Master's and all the other guys work after all.

At this point it's pretty much known Square Enix isn't going to make the game WE want to play. It's gonna be modernized in the worst of ways, casualized, combat will be a spectacularized, nice-to-look-at button mashing mess, deprived of all it's depth and challenge, all characters will be Advent Children-ized, optional side activities will be cut, areas will be cut, dialogs will be cut, sh1tty new dialoges we didn't ask for will be added.

What will eventually be released to the masses will be a chopped up lifeless shell, forever to remain in the shadow of the great epic adventure this game once was. This is not the game for us fans, it's a punch in the face. But you guys can show Square Enix how to make it better!

I think Kaldarasha has planned to release a proper german translation some day, but for now I would recommend the retranslated english version. I'm german too and play it that way. ;)

Awesome work on catalog 2.0! I love it so far! Thank you very much for everyone's contribution to this project.

I have ran into two issues so far:

The Team Avalanche Sweeper model and SlayersNext Potions are not used even though they are selected. I have attached my 7th Heaven (1.50) Profile here: http://pastebin.com/SPYqPZhu. Please let me know if you need anything else to help diagnose the issue.

The sweeper model works, it's just that it's not replacing the sweepers within midgar. It replaces a variation of the sweeper that you first encounter in the area around midgar, after you leave the city.

To dig up an old quote from myself:
