General Discussion / Patch Location - Help
« on: 2008-12-10 18:54:59 »
Hi all, long time no see  :-)

It's been recently brought to my attention that File Front have deleted three of my patches from their server for a reason they haven't specified to me.  Unfortunately, I don't have a backup copy of the three patches on my computer so I was wondering if any of you, by any chance, downloaded one of the patches and still have it on your hard drive somewhere?

The three patches in question are "Scorpicus' Sephiroth Patch V1.1 - Full" and the "Sephiroth Cut Scene Pack".  See details in the original thread here:  http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=6957.0

And also "Scorpicus' Zack Patch - V1.0 Full".  See details in the original thread here:  http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7256.0

If anyone does have a copy of any of the files, would you be able to upload the file/s to a server such as Rapidshare or transfer the files across to me in some other fashion?  I'm excessively grateful for any help on this.

Archive / [Release] Scorpicus' Zack Patch
« on: 2007-12-29 14:26:11 »
I know there are probably a dozen or so people working on various "Zack Patches", but since almost all the patches are incomplete or their download links eject you to cyberspace, I thought I'd make one.

It allows you to play the game as Zack in the field, battle; chocobo and bike minigames and world map.  The text and icons have also been altered to portray Zack.  There are still a couple of glitches, but it's (pretty much) a complete Zack/Cloud role reversal.

Enjoy!

Download

NOTE:  Both versions install the same patch.  They just have different file sizes/difficulty of installation.

Download the "full" version - 100mb with one file to patch the game automatically:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0014ce/n/Scorpicus_Zack_Patch_-_Fu1_zip link fixed

Download the "lite" version - 17mb with a longwinded installation - download this one if you are familiar with LPG Tools.

Glitches

You are reverted back to Cloud for the snowboard mini game.

Cut scenes still portay Cloud.

Note to NPC Patch Modders:  If you haven't already got a Zack model for your patch, feel free to use my Zack battle model

Note to Sephiroth Patch fans:  I'll get back to working on it, honest!

I made these tutorials a while ago and now, for some reason, I feel compelled to post them.  They're not perfect, but should give a good starting point to anyone who wants to start modding but has no clue where to begin.

Both tutorials are in DOC format.

Archive / Complete Field Skeleton File List
« on: 2007-09-10 22:04:49 »
Hi guys, since I was trawling the char archieve looking for the snowboarding Cloud model (no it's not in the snowboard.lpg :-P) I created a complete list of all the field model HRCs.  There was another one on the forums, but it was incomplete.

View the complete list here:  http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/350844_orzmi/Scorpicus%20Field%20Skeleton%20List.txt

I also made one for the magic.lpg, although that ones not as useful cos the names of the magic skeletons are pretty explanatory anyway.

Check it out here:  http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/350845_c7bgk/Scorpicus%20Magic%20Skeleton%20List.txt

Hope you guys find these useful

Well, since we have an almost complete Sephiroth patch for the NPC models, I've taken it upon myself to complete a Sephiroth patch using the origional models.  And I have here to present to you version 1.1! Finally!

The Sephiroth Patch allows you to play as Sephy against the evil Cloud, using the origional field models - it's the most complete Sephy patch on the net!  You play as Sephiroth in the field, battle; chocobo mini game; bike mini game; world map; updated text and icon swaps.

Download version 1.1

The full version of the patch (135mb) but just one exe file to patch all - if you're unsure which file to download you need this one and the Cut Scene Pack.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0017g2/n/Scorpicus_Sephiroth_Patch1_zip - link fixed

For those of you who have already downloaded and installed Version 1.0, you need to download this patch (30mb).
http://files.filefront.com/Sephiroth+Patch+Lite+V1+1zip/;8838723;/fileinfo.html

This is the extra small version of the patch (15mb) that now includes text changes and does everything the full version does, however, the installation is not for the faint hearted.  Very, very longwinded - be sure to read the ReadMe.

Cut Scene Pack

To alter the cutscenes to portay Sephiroth as the hero you need this patch, whatever version of 1.1 you download.

However, there are still a few glitches that need ironing out - any help on these would be awesome:

Reverted back to Cloud for the snowboard mini game.

Sephiroth limit breaks and other battle animations - currently Sephiroth has Cloud's limit breaks and the animations are very whacked.  The moves still work - they just look weird.

Sephiroth is stuck with the Masamune for a weapon in battle.

The single Masamune field model has not been swapped for the Buster Sword.

Thankyou!

Special, special thanks to Sephiroth 1311 for doing practically all of the hex editing for me!  Henkays Ikuisuudesta for showing me how to decompress the bin files; Borde, Ficedula, Squall 78, M4v3R, Lord Ramza and Mirex for their most excellent modding programs!  Qhimm for his forum and to everyone who posted bug feedback/support/critique - thankyou all so much!

Releases / [FF7PC] Masamune Patch (1.0)
« on: 2007-08-06 16:41:50 »
A fun little patch that allows Cloud to use Sephiroth's Masamune blade!  It swaps in Sephy's blade for the "Ultima Weapon" blade and comes complete with a save at the start of the game with the Masamune equipped (in case you can't be bothered to trawl the game looking for it  :-D)

Screen shots:

You can download version 1.0 of the patch here:  http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/192280_xsdhz/Masamune%20Patch.zip

Enjoy!

NB:  I have no idea how it will react to other patches - it should only effect the battle.lpg and the kernal2.bin.

Archive / Animation File List
« on: 2007-05-25 20:20:50 »
Hi guys,

Well, don't ask why, but I'm trying to swap Tifa's field model for Cloud.  The problem with doing this is that Tifa's field model does not take well to Clouds animations, so I'm having to swap the animations as well.  This is where the real problem occurs - to go through all the animations to find Tifa's and Cloud's is the equivilent of looking for a needle in a haystack, so I was wondering if  someone would be so kind to point me in the right direction where I might find (ideally) a list of the animation files and what they actually are.

If that's not possible, does anyone have any ideas on a faster way to tell which animation goes with which model than opening up each individual model with Kimera?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated  :-D

Archive / Faceless Field Model Trouble
« on: 2007-05-16 22:33:02 »
Hi guys - new meat  :-D

The past few days I've been experimenting with Kimera: swapping the field models around, editing the p files etc, etc.  But I've got a problem.

When I open the hrc files with Kimera, some of the models lose their eyes and mouths and when I stick the files back in the game the models remain faceless.  For example  Rufus' head:  http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h63/Scorpicus/facelessRufus.jpg

I'm pretty sure I must be missing out something blatently obvious, but I've searched the forum to no avail.

Thanks for any help in advance
