If you have installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, this might help:

Start -> all Programms -> K-Lite Codec Pack -> Configuration -> LAV Splitter

remove the check mark for "avi" inside the Tab "Input Formats"

I do not have the K-lite mega codec pack. Should I snag that to help out? I haven't seen anyone else mention that in the pages I've read here, nor have I ever heard of it in general.

The k... is not necessary. I installed it and thereby could no longer play the old (1998) videos.
After some experimentation I found the above solution to make the old videos playable again.
If you also want to experiment a bit, you can try it. But if it helps (you uses other Videos) I do not know... ???

By the way guys if i want the 9999 break am I not allowed to tick the "Menu Overhaul" in the bootleg options?

Really want the 9999 break but not sure what's the best options.

I have tried selecting just 9999 break with the menu overhaul but it says not to...
I try just 9999 on the bootloader and the battle menu goes all weird.

Is it true that in order for me to use 9999 break (on the bootloader) I have to COMPLETELY disable the menu overhaul?

If you are installing MO, then use its 9999 break and don't use Bootloader.

If you aren't installing MO, then use Bootloader's 9999 break.

Using both will mess up the alignment of you battle menu.

Thank you very much! I've learned so much from just these little hints here and there i'm starting to get the hang of how it works and i've managed to fix everything I wanted to change, trial and error!

there's just one more thing I wanted to ask, i've seemed to accidentally enabled something that changes the name of all of my Materia

-eg. Phoenix Down is now Phoenix Tail.

I know what I must have selected during the MO process I just wanted to know if I can actually remove this from the Bootleg without having to re-install >.<

Those are MO options. Try running Bootleg again with ReTranslation and the Canon options unchecked. I'm not sure if this will change an already installed MO, so if it doesn't, you will have to do a fresh install.

I know it's a bit difficult to take in all these different options at once, but Bootleg really requires everyone to read about the mods before installing. You can do that in the Tifa's Package thread.

Do you have all save files used? you need to have save00 through save09 in order for Aali's driver to work. Just paste your save 9 times and rename them so you have save00 save01 save02 save03 save04 save05 save06 save07 save08 and save09.

I just added them all and am crashing at the same spot after the EIDOS logo disappears. The app log seems to have progressed to trying to get into the menu system though...

You have to have all the saves before installing the driver. Move the save folder to the desktop, then uninstall, then delete the install folder, then reinstall, then install the 1.02 patch, then put the save folder back into the installation folder, then install Aali's driver.

Well I have the 2012 version so it's at 1.0.7 but now when I open the launcher to try and sign in I get stuck at 10% and then the connection error pops up. Apparently this has been a problem since launch and I can't find a fix. Should I go ahead with the bootleg process again?

Hey guys I recently uninstalled ff7 and re-installed it. I've done this countless time without any problems but this time a portion of the sound is missing.

The logo that loads up doesn't have sound
Select screen has no sound
When people attack there is no sound
when selecting in the Menu there is no sound

The only thing there really is that makes a noise is the music, any idea what the problem could be?

Sorry ignore this!! Managed to fix it!

I want to ask a question why this game become fullscreen. I solved other questions.

In Bootloader, click the Configure button. There you will see a check box for full screen.

You do not need to convert the Rerelease into old, that bootleg done automatically.
Unfortunately, requires bootleg (or Kranmers version) that disables UAC.

My FF7 Game Converter -BETA- works with UAC enabled.

Please make sure to PM PitBrat if you haven't already. We spoke a few days ago, and I believe he wants to do an overhaul of the whole Bootleg process. It's a great program, the best we have, but it certainly could use some work still. I think it's difficult for one guy to do all the programming, and one gal to do all the testing. I'm sure the help would be appreciated...I know I do.

You have black bars because you have preserve aspect turned on and there's always one on the bottom.

In ff7_opengl.cfg, change preserve_aspect = yes into = no. It will stretch the image though so I would rather have the bars.
