This tutorial is great! Nothing went wrong or felt confusing. These a great variety of mods to pick from but don't expect a remake like I did.

By the way, I love your avatar image, if you're still live on this thread could you send me a link for download or something, that would be great  :)

I need some help that been making me flip table left and right...

I have no music so I looked through the troubleshoot/solved section and found a-couple of thing's but they have not worked, One of them may have made thing's worse I can't say till I check the game one more time tomorrow, Let's just say when I clicked the exe and went as normal but Instead of going to the logo It just went as a black screen that I could not escape from AT ALL so I had to shutdown >.> help please "Begs"

Sorry Alyza, I just now saw this... If you do downloads separately like I do (out of habit), when you have an installer that hasn't been run before, windows will put up a prompt asking if it's ok to run this application with a checkbox for "always do this action for this file" or something like that. if you dont check that box and just hit cancel, then Bootleg won't install the Avalanche GUI and it won't have a hiccup on the item that comes next or whatever is going on with Aeris Revival. IF Avalanche GUI isn't in the bootleg install folder with the rest of the mods, bootleg will claim the Aeris Revival is missing and move on to the next item, with no more errors as far as I could tell.

There is no option in Bootleg NOT to install the Avalanche GUI, it comes up red if its not in the install folder no matter what. And it absolutely does slightly conflict with Menu Overhaul. There's like 50 extra unneeded files in the mods/menu folder if you use avalanche gui. It is the cause for the asymmetrical black border of the HP bars in the menu. Presumably there are other issues but that always bugged me and that is what causes it.

It is ALSO the reason people can't easily switch out their menu materia icons. If you try to toss my brightened materia pack into your mods/menu folder (made from either Grimmy or Romeo14's graphics; I really don't know who did them), they don't work unless you haven't installed Avalanche GUI with bootleg.
Thanks for that brightened materia pack will use this when im done installing ffvii 2012 on my fresh pc, btw should i follow those steps when i install with Bootleg to make sure the Menu Overhaul install was more successful or not damaged? Haven't been able to play this for a long time due to crappy pc now ahh finally ^^ ..haven't installed yet will do sometime today

I've updated the Tutorial:

1. Added the new Steam release as a modding option.
2. Added Kompass63's GC as a STEP 0 (Hopefully PitBrat can take a look at it for possibly implementing into 040.1).
3. Added disabling UAC to STEP 3.
4. Added Template's workaround to skipping Avalanche GUI 2.0 in STEP 9. This is to avoid incompatibilities with Menu Overhaul.
5. Added three more Q&A's:
  • How to fix a black screen with red triangles on the start menu.
  • How to fix cut off counters/timers, such as the Shinra Mansion Safe.
  • How to fix a crash when opening the last chest on Floor 65 of the Shinra HQ

If I've missed something or anything else would like to be suggested, please let me know  :)

Be careful about double posting.

I see you're running on Intel HD Graphics, which isn't supported. Are you running on a laptop? Does it have a dedicated graphics card? Give me some system specs please.

Open FF7 Bootloader and push the "Configure" button.

You're going to have crashes/freezes if you don't have it play off a video card. Are you playing on a laptop or a desktop?

Read the 2nd question that talks about setting up an Nvidia video card. Hopefully you don't have ATI.

I really like ATI because it's cheap and usually works fine. If I could build a new system I would certainly go with Intel for the guts this time... but I think I would still consider an ATI video processor. I am very curious to see what happens in the coming months and if they continue to roll out drivers that conflict with aali's opengl, since it's beginning to look like that was a final version. With the 25th anniversary edition upcoming and a remake being hinted at, perhaps there is need for caution and secrecy.

Does anyone know what's causing these white lines to show up?

It seemed like everything downloaded and installed correctly, and this is the only issue that I've seen.  Any fix for this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
