General Discussion / FF7EC Models
« on: 2023-12-27 07:11:49 »
Hey all, just curious, I did a search of the forums and didn't see anything at first look. Has there been any talk about trying to port the Ever Crisis models to FF7? Not sure if it can be done; I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on it.

Not sure if you guys saw this... it's not confirmed true but apparently comes from a reliable source.

It wasn't terrible back in the day. I enjoyed the story mode. The fighting was ok...not the cleanest fighter but not the worst. I'd say it was's been ages since I played it though so not sure how it aged or how much I ignored due to being a child. lol

Just thought I'd leave this here. I was really impressed with it.

I'm pretty pumped for 15. Let's be's not like 13 had any strategy in its battle system anyway. Hit Auto Battle....Win Game... Plus it looks like it might not be linear as hell like 13 was..I'll give it a shot, it'll be the last one I give a chance to if it sucks though.

I bought it, I'm on NORG..It's not terrible, I replaced the music and FMVs and it's alright. I would've liked to see more but I'm ok with it. Paid for the convenience of being on steam and being downloadable.

I really can't tell but some textures look a bit better like character faces and the game looks a little more colorful somehow :P that's about it though, probably some sort of texture upscaling tool they used..

That's ok, I'm going to play it to 100% completion. I'm glad the Character Booster isn't as over powered as they one they did for FF7.

I really wish I knew what the status of the FF8HD release was. I want to play it again but I'm kind of holding out for a Steam release just to check it out. I hope it doesn't come with a Character Booster :P

I've never used bootleg so I'm not that familiar with it but it looks like there are lighting/texture changes and some sort of battle difficulty changes(maybe?). I would say if anything is causing your issue it's one of those two. I would lean more toward the lighting/texture changes since they are most likely to give you an out of memory error. See if you can switch to Software mode for the graphics just for that fight and see if that helps.

Yeah, sounds like it was an animation issue; bone/joint overlapping and the engine couldn't handle it. Could be wrong though :P

Do you have any mods installed? If so, can you list them please?

I see nothing of use here. I'm not sure but it sounds like a model issue to me. Overlapping bones or something of the sort. Have you applied any mods?

I'm at the Coliseum, I always loved KH. Can't wait to see all of the Final Mix stuff I'm playing it on Proud Mode. Great game. However, I always have the same question for HD Remakes...I really don't know if this would be possible but couldn't they use the High Resolution models in HD the ones with facial depth, I feel like they could. Especially in the case of KH1.5 where apparently they had to completely redo everything using the KH2 engine.

Opinions? I really would like to know how possible this would be. I'm not talking CGI models obviously...just the high-rez ingame model.

SNES game EULAs may not actually cover this eventuality, so it's possible that this is actually legitimate.

This actually may be correct, that would put it into a gray area though not so much a legitimate area.

cloud service seems to be down, can't sync old saves.. :(

Awesome thank you! I have replaced characters and started to mess with some myself. I love the fact that this game is getting mods. Have you seen Project M yet?

I can't find this exact stage

Random question but if I have the 2012 version and I get the steam version and log into my SE Account do the achievements carry over? Because I don't feel like getting them all again :P

Square has really stepped up this year. Both KH3 and FF15 look incredible..maybe they'll finally stop all the FF13 crap.

I agree completely! :)

I put this together...don't be harsh, just threw it together quick for some laughs :P

It doesn't sound like they're going for the Cloud-Saving...Character Boosting...Square Achievement crap this time though. Sounds like it's just a straight re-release. We'll see what happens, 8 would be way easier to upscale. However, if the rumors are true about eidos source code being lost in the abyss then I wouldn't expect that much.
