Possibility is that the emulator can handle is gracefully, while POPS is designed to be like the original psx.

Hi, wouldn't it be easier to have 2d polygons over the top of the field bacground using a new background image as the top texture?

28
Chankast was an old emu that worked well.

I had to borrow someones DC but the chance to play Resident Evil: Code veronica was too great, shame I didn't get to play Shenmui much.

Interesting, can you hack the models?

I remember messing wtih DBZ: Budokai and putting in actual DBZ music from the tv show :) But they changed their file format after that :(

I started playing it tonight, I'm having a lot of bother with simple things like healing because the menu's are all in Japanese (of course they are, its all in Japanese)

Its really fun though, I love all the battles and the characters.
I've only discovered one way to hear - either pick up a potion on the game board, or if you picked up an item previously it should show in the top right of the screen and you can press square to access that sub menu and choose the potion.
All this is while on the game board, I don't know how to heal mid game or in the menus. Mid game the only way you can heal is if you go in to Ex Mode you can get some health back over time.

It's a fighting game mixed up with some RPG but moving your character on a world like a chess set doesnt mean to be tactics at all :)
Btw, you can look up for a script translation on gamefaqs, you can understand how the storyline is. In fact, I gotta admit that this game is better than I expected.

I couldnt think of a similar game to compare with :)
I found out this week that if you replay a world and get past say level 18 for your character new super baddies appear on alot of the maps.
It is cool to find this stuff out slowly for yourself - it adds to the fun and longetivity of the game.

Hey, I am totally loving this game.
I got hold of the Japanese version (don't think any US/EU version has been announced), and I can make out some of the speech I can't read Japanese.
Makes it more fun and harder as I have to learn the battle system as I play.
Anyone else played this and what is your impression? I have finished up to Story VIII with Squall.
BTW this is a PSP game which pits the main good guys and main villians from Final Fantasy 1 through to 10 in a story mode, no moving around like an RPG, this is a abit akin to Tactics as you move your character around a board and encounter enemies who you fight on full 3d maps.

The battle system is well made and great fun, but can get easy when you learn the tricks to winning

Im gonna post rapidshare links in the next hour or so, my upload stinks at the moment..

36
4shared Mirror here:

Disc 4

**Oh, yes, how about making them .MO3 for better looping(requires in_bass.dll)?

Ok thanks! :)
Well i was thinking about using that but i wasnt sure if FVIIMusic supports MO3 and i dont want to make things to complicated for people who just want to listen to it

Your free to test it yourself :)

When will some one freshen up ff7music? that app is old and very picky

37
Thanks all for the nice comments :)

could someone upload this to rapid share or bt?

I always had trouble downloading with rapidshare and i cant seed with torrent cause i dont have much bandwidth (50kb/s) :D
I could upload it to rapidshare, but whats wrong with megaupload if i may ask :)

I have a rapidshare account, and so do 100s of others, but it was just a request, there are sites that upload to multiple download sites at once..

« on: 2008-11-26 00:44:35 »
Is this still going? Congratulations on keeping it up thus far.
I remember when you were starting it out, hell loads of changes though much be hard to keep track of them all.

41
Now THIS is exciting!
Haven't had nothing like this for ages :)
I'm guessing you are 100% clued on all the possible values that could be used for all the items/equipment/etc?

42
Its techincally DirectMusic right with the DLS samples etc?
That means it is played through DirectSound via DirectX (no real hardware accelaration as far as I remember).
The Master volume in the volume control panel will effect both midi and fx.

43
Ah couldnt be bothered waiting so beat him with KOTR with Counter-MIME.
Made sure everyone had normal weapons and revived the other party members before ruby died :D
Pretty much maxed the game, now on to getting level 99 and loads of sources...

44
Got players on around level 70, and don't want to use any ultimate weapons for the man fighting ruby weapon.
I don't want to use the hades+KOTR trick, or KOTR+Mime.
All other attacks or magic dont get near 2000 damage :(

General Discussion / Assorted FF7 Plot Questions
« on: 2008-06-23 11:01:18 »
Hi, playing through FF7 NTSC PSX on my PSP and almost finished.
But there are some questions which are itching inside my head which I can't get an easy answer for.
Hence I will post them here for debate :)
*SPOILERS*
I want to know why Sephiroth severed Jenova's head in the flashback, what was his original intention, what did he find out when he was in the basement libarary of the shinra mansion that wanted him to go and take a piece of Jenova back with him?

We all know what happened in the end - Cloud sends him into the lifestream with Jenova's head and hence he ends of at the North Crater.

Looking good! Keep up the good work.

Yes, even after 10 or so years of FF7 I found something interesting.
I was a Geas Cliff fighting a pack of 4 ZoloKalter's (Toxic Barfing Worm things) and hit one with Cloud's Level 2 Limit Break - Blade Beam.
As you know it hits it's intended target and cannons off and hits all other enemies.
What I didn't know was this - enemies who are programmed to counter-attack counter the attacker (in this case the enemies hit back with Toxic Barf), and the remaining ZoloKalter's were either attacking me, and the ZoloKalter who was hit by the original Blade Beam.

Can anyone explain this?

If you enjoy street fighter, keep yours eyes peeled for "Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix" being released on XBLA and PSN sometime during the summer.
Supposed to be a playable version at the BoD

At London's Met Uni 26th 27th of June.
Games include SSF2, SF3 TK5 and MVC2.
Anyone going, I saw sircanealot's name down?
I will hopefully go for SSF2 and try SF3.

People with notebooks usually don't have a USB Floppy to install SATA drivers from, so you will either have to use nLite to merge them with install CD, or search in BIOS Setup for an entry like "SATA Native mode" and set it to disabled - that will allow legacy software to detect your HDD as a normal PATA drive.
I have a HP 6720s which had Vista basic on it, had to set the HDD to native to install XP (infact had to leave it native or I can't boot XP :))
