Looking fantastic, Sapphire!i agree 100%. Absolutely fantastic
Everytime i use the custom driver i just get a blank screen but got some dialogue and when it gets to the start screen the writing and the background behind is all white and font is messed up what should i do to fix it?with the driver all i get is the "New Game" and "Continue" options with a totally black background
Aali's graphics driver worked great for FF7 (after I figured it all out) but I have acquired a copy of FF8 pc and am having major issues with it. I saw a note where it said that it doesn't work with some newer Nvidia drivers (Mine is the G210M for Vaio) but, as I said, it's fine for FF7.If you don't mind answering, how do you have your Aali driver set up? because i'm having a serious quandary here
There's a good chance that the black texture glitch is a result of using the ficedula tool to compile lgp's.having problems with taking the sccreenshot[probably also from the driver being installed]. Anyway the Cloud mod is just missing the sword, not that i can't see it clearly. Sorry for the confusion. The bigger problem though is getting a black screen problem after i install Aali's driver
Aali's lgp tools are essential for the advanced modding of FF7.
If the command line shell doesn't work, you could try using the PowerShell.
That's even more of an hassle though.

Are you using Aali's lgp tools to work with the lgp files? Using highwind or other lgp tools can damage the lgp files and cause missing textures.i was using the ficedula tool because the lgp exe didn't work and the cmd command never works for anything i try to do with it for some reason. i get stuck at steps 14 - 16 on the tutorial because of that. I have the custom driver installed. As far as the driver goes, that seems to be the root of the black screen problem. There's 0 problems with the menu/lvl screen until i install the custom driver
Also, turn off texture compression in the ff7_opengl.cfg:
compress_textures = no
And even disable fancy transparency for good measure:
fancy_transparency = off
After installing Aali's OpenGL driver, did you run config.exe as administrator and change to the custom driver?

The AC Cloud mod is contraband.the good news is that the Cloud model isn't messed up but now i'm getting other problems:
I suggest using Bloodshot's Cloud field model from Models.7z.

The most recent version of Aali's driver is 0.7.11b. Try getting that and try disabling shaders in your config file.i tried playing once before disabling shaders and once again got the black screen going in the menu. After i turned it off i got the black screen at the game menu every time. I tried at least 3x
Aali's driver should stop the midi music from playing. If you're not using my installer, follow these steps to fix this problem:If it's a prerequisite to have the 1.02 patch first i'm between a rock and a hard place, because i'm pretty sure the driver, the 1.02 patch or both causes me to have black screen issues when i go to the menu
- Open a text editor of your choice. Notepad should work fine. If you're on Windows Vista or 7, make sure to run as administrator for this.
- In the "Open" dialog box, navigate to your FF7 install folder. By default this is C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII. On 64-bit Windows, it's in Program Files (x86).
- Find the line that says #music_plugin = plugins/ff7music.fgp
- Remove the # at the beginning of the line and save the file.
If you're using my ff7music installer, simply upgrade to the latest version. Whenever it detects these steps need taken, it'll ask for admin privileges and do this automatically.
In fact, FF7Music is the easiest solution to the sound issue.my issue is that the midi is playing with my custom music. Is that the reason?
The game uses MIDI music normally. At points where the music is supposed to fade out, it turns down the volume on MIDI. However, thanks to a change Microsoft made in Windows Vista and later, there is no longer a system-wide MIDI volume control. As a result, when the game tries to turn down the music, it turns down ALL the volume. The reason this only happens sometimes is that if there's still music playing in the background, or if the music stops suddenly, it doesn't need to turn down the volume so it still works.
With FF7Music, the game won't even attempt to turn down the volume. All of the music volume is done externally by FF7Music, and will leave the game volume alone. I should warn you that you'll need the latest version of Aali's driver for this to work right, otherwise it ignores volume commands entirely.
