And there is no possible way to continue playing the game after that battle, so that's that idea out of the window.

What about being able to warp to Emerald? If that can be done, then it may be possible to gain the Red Sub and all Huge Materia, not to mention 99 Earth Harps.

Hang on, I've just remembered that the Rocket HM "rcktin4" scripts looks at the mission progression flags to decide whether or not to give you that mission's Materia (as opposed to the Materia in your Key Item list). Seeing as you would have lost the Junon mission, you will receive the Red Materia, even though you'll already have it, so you'll miss the Blue Materia.

Even still, it would be nice to know of 99 Earth Harps are doable!

Does anyone have any explanations and/or suggestion as to why the following occurs and how it can be worked around?:

 - When trying to warp to Emerald you jump to yougan2 instead of Emerald Weapon
 - Losing to certain bosses will disable Random Encounters when you load up your WARPING FROM save file, such as Gi Nattak, H0512, Red Dragon, Jenova Birth. There are probably more.
 - Has anyone worked out a way to exploit the "Extended" Yuffie Warping Glitch yet? I've figured out that you can probably get into the Gelnika as soon as you get the Highwind (using IDs 88 ~ 91; Mt. Corel Area Bridge), which means early access to the Sub. I haven't tested it though.

For the past week or so myself and songsengnims have been looking into the possibilities and paramaters of Yuffie Warping to duplicate items that have been previously dubbed as "un-dupe-able". My first comment was that the Warping glitch can only be done on the PC versions, and in my opinion it is far too easy to save-game edit for my liking to class any PC/Steam Perfect save file as "legit" (PS4 perhaps??). I could create any means of "perfect game" in 10 minutes flat (using an end-game save as a template).

Regardless, it's been quite fun digging around to see what we can do, and we have been able to warp from just before Diamond to Cave of Gi to dupe Seraph Combs (Gi Nattak won't wortk, must be a random encounter), and Lost number for Cosmo Memorys. the trick is warping back to the Diamond fight; immediately after GameMoment is set back to its rightful position and the savefile is restored with no harm done. The fun is thinking of a number of ways to manipulate GameMoment for exploitation, as such I thought it was fitting for this site. Anyone wanna help?

One exciting possibility for me was the prospect of gaining a Red Sub AND having all 4 Huge Materia (without hacks). That would definitely be worth making a youtube vid for. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell it cannot be done. Another cool thing we've discovered is the fact that we can do the North Crater events without having recruited Yuffie, then warp back to the Diamond fight to set GameMoment to just before parachuting. Read up on the main thread to get the full low-down on what we've discovered can and can't be done, however there's quite a lot to go through. At the very least, it makes for some entertaining reading!

Now, the thing I'm trying to work out is whether or not it's possible to learn Omnislash via the end-battle, then still be able to warp back to any point in the game, thereby retaining the Omnislash Manual (as XeroKynos suggests in one of his vids)?? Is the Lv4 Limit learnt via field scripts prior to the end-battle, or is it learnt via in-battle script? Any suggestions?

FAQs and Tutorials / Re: Helpful Charts by DynamixDJ

I have updated my Enemy Formation Charts to V1.1:

 - I've given it a Complete and thorough once-over for errors.
 - Average Exp, AP and Gil has been included in the "ENCOUNTERS BY FIELD ID" section.

I'm still working on the calculator that myself and NFITC1 discussed a while back. It's turned into a massive database that can do a whole heap of things. It can already calculate Damage Overflow, and can pull an entire area's worth of enemies + stats simply by inputting the field map ID. I'm currently filling in the enemies Attack Data (nearly 1000 entries, ugh); my plan is to create a bestiary that is as thorough as it can possibly be. If anyone would like to test the work I've already done then PM me and I'll send you the current version.

Anyway, the original purpose of the calculator is finished, which was to calculate the true averages for each screen. here is the absolute best of every area:

-Edit- V1.1.1 Uploaded, which includes the average Qty pf enemies for each area

I laernt how to hex edit a short while ago. I didn't find it too hard. I use EditPad Pro, which is basically just an ascii text-editing software, but also deals with hex editing. PM me if you'd like a copy. I opened up the ff7.exe within Edit Pad, then I'll zoom in to only show 16 bytes per line. I scrolled down to line 001C6300. the offset is 1, which is the second value in. D1 F8!
It shouldn't take you long  ;)

I believe Wall Market is the tool you are after. I'm not sure if it can lock Materia onto your equipment, but it can certainly edit all things menu-related!

Have you created a .ISO and labelled it "FF7DISC1", then mounted the .ISO to a virtual drive?

You must have done when you installed the Game Converter. Check that the .ISO is still mounted, and that it is mounted to the same drive letter as it was during the installation.

I'm quite well known on GFaqs, so I've decided to create a topic to try to rally up some support:

Errmm, sorry JMP I'm not sure I understand... I think you're saying I model and you finish the scene... That can work, because I won't lie, when it comes to the finishing touches, I feel out of my depth, amateur, and I don't want to make something that is un-worthy....

I meant to say also, I have a week booked of work next week, so I definitely want to finish corelin. I have already corrected the sofa using trupaint, I changed some of the textures to remove the reptition that you mentioned, the last thing to do was the rug, which I had a lot of difficulty with. Nothing I was trying was working, so I will try to install crazybump and add displacement that way. I hate to leave something unfinished that I have worked hard on, and I will finish this scene  :D

I have problems with Thea crashing. Everytime I go into the "structure" tab in the mat-lab, Thea will crash. It also crashes everytime I render. I think I may have set the subdivision too high, and it crashes because the preview is too much for the cpu to handle. Luckily I have an earlier version of corelin to work from, so I can export the rug that way

As I explained to JMP in a PM, I cannot fully commit to this project for varying reasons, the main one being that I am going to have to return to my walkthrough soon, as I haven't been working on that for a few months now, and that is my main project. I also have a number of smaller side projects for FFVII, however this project is by far the most inspiring, and I will be returning periodically to do a scene from time to time. Once my guide is finished, I will be free to indulge in the other things I have going on, namely this project.

The problem is, there is a world of learning to do in this field, and given the fact that I spend 40 hrs a week doing a job I hate, I am left with very little time and energy to learn, and I don't want to be making half-arsed scenes; each scene is a work of art, and needs to be treated as such. JMP's speed and skill amazes me.

Lastly, sorry to go off-topic bit it's woth noting: (as an example of how the qhimm forums have inspired me) I do not want to spend the rest of my life doing crap work for crap money, so this year I am inquiring with my local University and College about enrolling on a course in Computer Science and Mathematics. If that ends up happening, then it stands a very strong chance be that I will have to completely step away from the world of Final Fantasy. Not forever....

Lol I did mention it in a PM  ;)

I reckon I can get the light correct, but the walls.... There is not a lot happening in this scene, so the things that are going on needs to be correct. What do you suggest? I was going to experiment with Sandbox to recreate the rock-face type texture of the walls and floor.

Yeah, I understood what you meant  :D I just wasn't sure if you meant extrude using push/pull then use some fancy trick. As you know, Follow Me can sometimes be unpredictable, and I haven't made string before. I may have a go try tonight. I'm working on kuro_12 still, the indents in the archway are taking a long time because I'm not sure how to work with curved edges properly yet:

I had a feeling that's how you did it. "Follow Me" I take it? I can do that.

This weekend I'll play with thrupaint to try to (finally) get corelin finished

In jailin4 there seems to be some thin rope hanging down from what appears to be blinds. I'm unsure how to go about making this rope. In your scene, I can see some wire hanging from the coat hook. How have you created it?

The surface of the desk, is this bump only, or bump and displacement?

The speed at which you work amazes me   ;D

Looking good!  :D
Sometimes it's difficult for me to work in the week because I get very tired, so I didn't do much last night, however I DID fix the lamp, your advice worked perfectly  :D :D I forgot that you don't have to use a lightsource to have light; just enable emmittance via the mat-lab. Worked like a charm  :D

I also installed fredo tools / thrupaint. I'll have a play around tonight. And I'm glad your graphics card will finally arrive today  ;D

One other thing, This small picture on the table is not displaying and I don't now why. I've tried making it deeper, but I cannot make the actual picture itself deeper, just the surface on the other side (the picture itself is curved and cannot be pulled).

Shall I just find another pic? The wall pic of the phillipines is fine, and is also very fitting as it could easily represent Wutai, even though the angle prevents one from seeing the picture properly

Your advice is very helpful to me :)

I've been looking very closely at your scenes JMP. min71 - you have very good wood texture for the walls, is this done with displacement?

mds7_im - how have you created the rust effect on the boiler, and "peeling paint" effect?

mds7_w3 ...... I wouldn't have a clue how to create the folded bed sheets as you have, how have you done it?

Thanks Kal! You make a good point about the Cloud model. My reckoning was that the model is so small that it is more of an Easter Egg than anything else, but nevertheless you are correct and I shall consider which model to have in its place. Vivi sounds good (also, Cloud would have been what... 16 years old??)

That lamp shade is giving me a world of trouble, and I'm considering replacing it altogether. The material is reflective because I didn't really know what I was doing when I was messing with it, I'm a lot more experienced with Thea now, and I know how to change the reflective settings, so the material is no longer reflective (or at least it shouldn't be), but the main problem is the light source; it only appears when I run the lowest quality rendering, otherwise it is not lit, and it's wearing me down.

JMP - I've just thought, do you think that it's because the pointlight is within the group of the lamp? If I remove the light from the group of the lamp, so it's on its own, do you think that would fix my problem? I can't see why it would, but it's the only thing I haven't tried. I'll try it when I get home, if that doesn't work then I'll swap over the lamp shade completely.

As expected, FF7 '98 wroked fine with all the mods, although i did need to reinstall the patch, and the game won't play in full screen. I've enabled postprocess. I can get it full screen again by configuring the ff7config from GC, but then the mods won't load properly; some won't work at all and Cloud is completely white, and there are green lines. The only way I can get the game to run properly again is by reinstalling the patch, but then it's not in full screen.

After all that, I decided to try the Steam version again. The same; no mods, no sound.  :(

OK, I completely uninstalled FF7 Steam and PC, then I manually deleted any folder remains. I then ran the reg fixer provided in the FAQ section, as well as CC. My computer is completely FF7 free (bar the 7H iro folder, which I kept). Then I installed the Steam version to C:\Steam Library, but not the '98 version

I disabled my antivirus (the threat was one of dlpb's .dll files which I've restored), then I ran the GC as administrator, making sure to select a sound source in the ff7 config. I received an error message after imstallation that the software ahdn't installed correctly, and gave me the option to run under recommended settings, which I followed (the same error occured after the initial installation too, I'd just forgotten about it).
Afterwards, I followed the exact steps for 7H setup as I did the first time round for the same result. No mods have loaded, and no sound. VGMStream selected. I haven't installed the '98 version yet, but I suspect the same result as yesterday; working mods with the crappy audio. I'll report back

Huh, interesting. I definitely had the music plugin set to vgmstream.

Before I manually installed Aali's driver (which was after installing gc), I had tried to run the '98 version, and the same that always happens happened; the game loaded to the opening menu, then went to a black screen after selecting New Game. After I manually installed Aali's driver, the game loaded correctly, with all the mods, but with the crappy audio. This means that gc hadn't installed correctly.

The first time I ran the gc, my antivirus popped up with a suspicious cloud threat, I wasn't sure if this was GC or not, however the command window displayed that the patch had installed correctly, so I didn't think anything of it. When I tried running GC again using the overwrite command, the same suspicious cloud threat appeared, so I think it's safe to conclude that my antivirus is the cause of the GC not installing properly. When I get home from work I'll do what I said I was going to yesterday, which is to completely uninstall every trace of FF7 from my comp, including the 98 version and then start over. I'll deactivate my antivirus when using the CG this time, unless you think running as admin would work?

Also, is this the correct up-to-date catalogue?
