Using speakers via aux cable does indeed solve the problem. Unfortunately the TV and speakers I'd like to play on (I tried both playing directly through the TV speakers via HDMI and through the receiver via HDMI) do not have that option.

There are ways around it -- I was able to get sound by plugging both the HDMI (for video) and an aux cable through an adapter into AV cables on the receiver -- but I'd really like to get this to work in a simpler fashion.

I've tried using HDMI on three different TV's for a total of 4 sound systems (TV A directly, TV A with its receiver, TV B directly, and TV C via Sonos), and oddly enough it worked in precisely one of them, the last one. So I'm sure it has something to do with how the various setups are interpreting the file format of The Reunion (I have no trouble getting audio from any sound system via the vanilla game).

Here's a link to my Google drive video showcasing the issue (sorry for the poor quality): https://photos.app.goo.gl/ihapGPPWt4MXvf2D8

And here's audio.log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11QAA262UE7bVg0l9L9aceJJ-LtZTMXWx/view?usp=sharing

That video should be shareable publicly (tested that via a friend opening it), lemme know if I messed that up.

Require app.log, reunion.log, audio.log - as first post.

Can't tell, was this in reference to me? My logs are provided in the og comment I was quoting! Sorry for the confusion

Here they are again though:

3. App.log (found in root folder)

4. Reunion.log (found in The_Reunion folder)

5. crash.dmp (found in root folder)

There was no crash so I don't think this file exists

6. Your save file from just before the crash or hang

(If that was not in reference to me, then my sincerest apologies)

1. An explanation of the bug

So essentially, when I plug my laptop into a TV via HDMI and have The Reunion enabled, all gameplay and menu audio goes silent. FMV audio still plays, but nothing else as far as I can tell. So I'll hear the start-up logo sound effects, but then when I get to the main menu there's no 'bleep bleep' as I move the cursor, and upon loading my save file, there's no music or sound effects of any kind.

This is not an issue through the laptop's own speakers, or even through the low grade speakers I tried plugging in through the aux port, and this is not an issue when The Reunion is disabled.

I have also confirmed that the issue is specific to HDMI somehow. When using the same TV/speakers via an analog cable (and using HDMI only for the video component), I am able to get gameplay sounds. So Something is going on with Reunion and HDMI (don't worry, I have tried two different HDMI cables, so it's not just an issue with the particular cable).

2. Does the bug happen at same point more than once?

It doesn't seem to be localized to a specific place. I tried various places throughout the opening of the game (train, Mako reactor, space outside Tifa's bar), and they were all silent....

As per my issue above (more details provided), I have now tested the game with The Reunion on another TV via HDMI and the problem of no sound in-game (but sound during cutscenes) persists on that TV as well.

Let me know if I'm providing any of this information incorrectly!

And thank you!

Hey, Kuraudo,

I am running the game in English so no worries there.

Unfortunately, upon adding a separate folder and line for "avatar" (screenshots of my file explorer: https://imgur.com/a/b4rTmJj ) not only did the avatars fail to update, but the rest of Satsuki's upscale ceased to render at all. So I was suddenly playing with neither Satsuki update.

I took a look at your other message, as linked, and was unable to find this particular problem discussed, so I figured I'd just respond directly and ask if you had any idea why this might be.

Thanks again!

Hey, friends!

I'm having trouble getting the avatars to work. I have Satsuki's upscaled backgrounds working already via the "CUSTOM\satsuki\Texture" folder, but for whatever reason adding those avatar .png's to that same folder (under "menus" of course) isn't resulting in any chance to the pixelated vanilla avatars.

Anyone have any idea why that might be?

Hey, folks, I'm new to this forum but searched around briefly and was unable to find this talked about anywhere else, so here goes:

I'm modding FF7 for the first time, and it's been a whole process, but I had gotten the few essentials I was looking for (The Reunion and Remako field upscales) up and running together on my laptop, as well as my Switch Pro Controller functioning properly with the game.

My intention was always to hook this all up to my TV and sound system and play console style, but when I did, something very strange happened: *some of* the audio refused to play.

Specifically, cutscene audio plays just fine (both the opening logos and the opening FMV played with no trouble), but gameplay audio is 100% silent. No music, no sound effects (all I tried doing was running around the Mako reactor), and no menu blips.

When I unplug the HDMI and revert to the laptop, all the audio is present, and if I disable The Reunion and play the game through the TV speakers, the audio works just fine as well.

I'm really truly at a loss as to what could be the problem. I tried disabling a couple of the sound things in the options.ini but that didn't make a difference either.

I don't know if anyone else has had this bug, but any help would be incredibly, greatly appreciated.
