Possible 7th Heaven Bug

I may be experiencing a 7H bug as shown in the image here. This happens on certain dialogues here and there. The option to have transparent dialog boxes is ticked, but it doesn't seem to work for some reason. I am on 7H v1.54, and I'm using bc.exe with The Reunion and Menu Overahaul enabled.

That looks about right.  The boxes don't become totally transparent, just see-through (which I can tell is working since the light and texture of the wall opening is visible behind Aerith's speech bubble)

I have tested with a save editor, and it seems like the game is expecting you to have the default names, and this happens when the name is longer. I have seen, however, people play without any dialog boxes. Is there a mod that removes them and I've missed it?
