A 220Mb update was released that has something to do with music.

but then FF7Music.exe doesn't work.

But why do you still use it? Shouldn't re-release  support OGG "natively" now?  Anxious Heart offers looping OGGs + quality even better than PSF since encoded from original OST. You don't need FF7music anymore, do you?

This is nearly identical to last year's release on the S-E store. Assuming the game converter kranmer made still works (it probably does), bootleg should also.

That said, you're likely to run into issues because Steam *REALLY* wants to install to Program Files by default, and won't let you create multiple libraries on the same drive, and bootleg really doesn't like when you install in Program Files. For now, people who want to mod are likely to have trouble unless they have a second HDD or partition they can install to.

Can I have more info on this subject? I may as well replay FF7 but I' like to know which mods are compatible with re-release. I think for original FF7 I used FF7Music, Avalanche HD Textures, Rejuvenation project, YAMP for MDef/minigames fixes, Aalis driver and some custom 3d models.

Now, I know that FF7Music is obsolete, there is OGG support in-game and proper track list for that. What about the rest? I assume YAMP is not compatible anymore as well (which is sad, I can live without minigames but Mdef fix is critical).

5
Can't say I have time (and patience) to read all 36 pages so I just ask here: is the driver compatible with the re-release? If so - what are the known issues so far?

6
Wonderful.
Now, can you choose a "Soundfont MIDI (Creative AWE32/AWE64)" output in FF7Config and try to check if it wotks?
If it does - record some in-game music with this tool please.

7
And the point?
There is none. The only thing that really matter is the ability to emulate that device I was talking about earlier.
Everything else - is a compromise (solution).

8
I have a question, does the 'Emulate ramps' feature (fade in / fade out) of FF7Music work for anyone?
Does not work for me, and I get the feeling it has never worked.
No, it doesn't and nevar worked. I saw a post on the forums where some guy explain why it doesn't, but I lost the link. Do not want to search again.

9
Here is a <comparison>

Here is the <fixed one>

P.S. *tsk*tsk* any idea where to get full PSF, not the mini ones? :o PM me please if you know :P

10
Oh, I see, added DirectSound and updated WaveOUT

Btw, you has some errors in your PSF profile, should I post the fixed one?

11
Umm...

Can someone fix that? Here is a correct link: http://www.covarr.net/storage/ff7musicbundlejan2010.zip

To people who have trouble with avatars: you probably belong in the group who are banned from having avatars after some incident in the past.It is not a bug in the forum.
Me too, lol? >_>

13
Try and tell us? Tell me if it works so I'll tell you how to record things proprely ;P

Not everything- you still can't change the avatar.

Once set avatar via URL I can't change it anymore (no option available):

My fresh 2.0RC3 copy works fine tho:

Wasn't able to find any bug report related to that.

---
Also, in general, RC3 is not so good choice, it has a bit broken search (but well, since it is completely disabled here - no big loss lol).

17
Well, the crash is happening from a very standard draw call that hasn't changed at all the last 10 or so versions. So, either you have a broken model somewhere (can you reproduce with original data?) or there's something really weird going on.
Any idea how I can find this broken model (if it's a cause)?

Aali
Also, as I said, those crashes is not a driver's fault. Just for such sake I've installed bloated 257.xx and here it is:

<APP.log>
<FF7music.log>
<dump>

Something in your driver incorrectly uses some OGL API instructions. I wonder if we can debug it somehow...

19
Not sure if it's a but, but now, attack lines of FortCondor's units are non-transparent anymore: click

20
Ok, but whats' about that crash? I barely doubt it is nvidia's ogl drivers fault, since it is a first crash for me of some game/application based on OpenGL API. Old good 182.50 proved himself as a stable ones for a long period of  time.

21
Yay, no more annoying crashes related to wind.wav (direct mode)!!!
Thank you.

Also, what do you think about this feature, Aali?

===========================

And again, I've got the same crash I've already described here:

<APP log>
<FF7music log>
<dump>

In this time it happens ALWAYS on the same place, right when I start the fight with Giant Icicle in "Gaea's Cliff inside" or after few battles in that area. Any idea how can eliminate this bug? ;< I've already tried to change some GPU setting for ff7.exe, like, vsync, triple buffering, multithread mode, etc - nothing helps ;< And I can't update my drivers too (there is a reason., too much to explain).

22
:EDIT:
It's not what I thought it was, but the crash does happen in the nvidia driver, so you may want to update that too, if you can still reproduce it I will look into it more deeply.
Hmm, it explains things a bit...
How did you get human-readable info from ff7's dump? :P

23
:<
Found a reproducible (but completely random) crash on The Great Glacier ;<<

<APP log>
<ff7music log>
<dump>

1st time happened when I passed out on glacier and appeared in Holzof's house (2d backgroubd wasn't even loaded, but music changed)
2nd time happened when I ALT+TAB'bed window
3rd time happened when I went into a battle
4th time described in the logs

Can be reproduced on 0.7.5/07.7.7.

Umm... well, ya'now, english is not my native language. I didn't plan to offend/insult you (sorry), just trying to say you were wrong when said:

You just didn't got the thing working properly I'm sure.

The main point of my question in this thread was about Soundfont MIDI (Creative AWE32/AWE64) emulation. THAT would be really nice.
Ofc, I can just copy ff7's original SFs, but oh well... that's not exactly the same.

25
You just stating the obvious things in that post, I'd set  up already Timidity on my system. I even browsed it's wiki/docs for while (google translate burns), found a way how can I emulate Soundblaster Audigy in Timidity player itself.

But, as I said, I wasn't able to find a way to emulate "Soundfont MIDI (Creative AWE32/AWE64)" output. And you said nothing of that.
