Team Avalanche / A few questions about the overhaul
« on: 2011-06-12 12:50:30 »
Well, here it is:
  • Is the field model a custom model or simply the original model rendered in high res? Because I noticed that characters have mouths when they shouldn't have one (seeing Jessie making that "Oh!" face all the time is very weird). I tried playing PSX version in emulator, the models are rendered just about the same size and they don't have mouths (I have never actually seen vanilla PC version, so maybe I'm just misinformed)
  • How does the custom Diamond Weapon model look like? I tried to search for it on the internet, but just can't seem to find it
  • How does the custom avatars (from Nero or something like that) look like?

Well, finally, not technically a question, but more like a suggestion: is it possible to add screenshots or preview of what exactly we're installing? I mean, sure, people from this forum might be familiar with the projects, but casual players who just want to play the game don't know what they're choosing. Barret and Diamond Weapon's models is a good example of this

General Discussion / Speed Square Zeppelin: where is it?
« on: 2011-06-10 12:58:16 »
I'm currently at Gold Saucer. I've heard tales of the legendary, guaranteed win zeppelin, but just where is the zeppelin and which part of it am I supposed to shoot at?

Also, is there any indicator of it being destroyed?

Troubleshooting / Is it possible to force mono output?
« on: 2011-06-05 06:42:17 »
Well, title says it all. I want to hear mono output, so that all of my speakers respond to Cloud's slashes, not just one of them

In the PSX game, it is possible to do this via menu config. Is it possible to do this in PC version? Either via the game settings or via a plugin?

I have tried to mess around with Windows Audio Control Panel, Realtek HD Audio Manager, out_wave.dll, out_ds.dll, in_psf.dll, ff7config.exe, with no result.

I know it's a long shot asking here, but never know till you try

"yado" is that music playing when you go to sleep, titled "Good Night,  Until Tomorrow"

While it's unproductive to listen to a music doing nothing, I somehow managed to miss it. It's a bit awkward to press "stay" and within split second the screen is back on again.

The PSF itself works fine, and I've set the correct file in the profile, as evidenced in the log:

Code: [Select]
CSR9
reading midi file: YADO.mid

YADO.mid

Midi file matched! YADO

Setup input plugin: Highly Experimental PSF1/PSF2 Player v2.09

So, what's the deal? Don't tell me it's because of that ',' there in the file name?

Note: I'm not saying "ME WANTZ FF7 REMAEK NOW LOL". I'm saying that, IF, for whatever reason, Square-Enix actually release an original FF7 remake, and it's already in stores, what will you do?

FF7 remake is a recurring topic, I think, but I just want to hear your opinion

FF7, for all that it is worth, had been milked as a series. The original game, however, is good (even if only for some people and come to think of it: if it's not, how can it become a series in the first place?). Many people are satisfied with the original product, despite it being more than 20 years old, and pretty much disagree with any idea of "milking FF7 title even more". I myself agree: it confuses me to no end how come Cloud, who spoke so much in the game, seems to have to try very hard to even utter a word in the movie

What I want to know is not "whether you want a remake or not", what I want to know is "if an HD remake is already in stores, will you buy and play it?"

I think that, no matter what you may think, a good remake of a good game is a good game. Sure, it might be just another cash cow attempt for Square-Enix, but a good game is a good game nonetheless. It's sort of like Dynasty Warriors: no game out of 7 (or perhaps 30, IDK) titles is different, but they're still good for what they're worth

If they actually release an HD remake for FF7, I'll gladly try to get my hands on it, either for nostalgia's sake or just to show my children "this here is the very first RPG your daddy played, you can bet it's good"

Lastly, again: this topic does not look for answers like "They better make a quality game than make a remake" or "I don't want no remakes!", what I want to hear read is "I will play it" or "I won't! Here's why:"
