I don't think so.

*Clothes are clothes, Men, Women wear clothes, nothing feminist here but only a choice of preference in "style" , it's like saying a woman wearing long sleeves with jeans is category to Feminism. No need to worry man, political equality makes no sense to me.

just my side opinion on the mod, i think it's nice cause it adds a little more personality to there previous character build from there story. You don't have to be showy to pop out to a crowd. But the stockings on Yuna in that mod should be changed and designed, I'm thinking sky blue with yellow lace leggings blended in with the shorts into a different style of pants.

Oh Ric maybe you should try designing some outfits for the game you're self you might be good at it, my first texture was on dissidia 012 duodecim

Video of my first texture for squall here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbNn7WOkMbA

*Who knows maybe someone will do one of Beta Tidus with the black hair from E3.

EDIT #2

Oh nvm it's been done!

It was just a joke  :P
However, I just had a peek at the steam forum and wow, some massive drama over that same mod lol. Personally I'm not a fan of it because some of the changes look weird to me, especially Paine's outfit... Idk but... It just doesn't match her personality in my opinion. However, mods are always welcome, even if some or most hate it, there will be someone else who will enjoy them and I see ALOT of stuff being done for the steam version of FFX and X-2. Didn't really expect it to blow up like that... starting to consider buying it even though I already own and completed the ps2/ps3 versions multiple times.

Chance to bring back Classic Tidus to HD
There is a chance to texture classic Tidus back to HD from the PS2 era by looking at a comparison list.

PS2:
*Hazel blue eyes (no black outer ring)
*No outer eye shadow
*lips are tinted pink with complexion blended.
*Upper lip contrusion is less aggressive (the M shape look)

HD:
*Blue eyes (Strong hue, black outer ring)
*Outer eyes have black eye shadow on the edges.
*Upper eye lid wrinkles are darker and bolder
*Lips are browner and only shade lighter to the center
*Upper lip contrusion is aggressive and noticeable
*Face complexion is lighter (less tan)

Compared:

No amount of retexturing would make him look exactly like in the ps2 version, because the model is different

Well that has yet to be seen, since no one has textured the classic version. But If you have a source to show that please let me know as i am curious about how close of a resemblance there Is to the design on the altered model.

That's not what I'm saying, my comment before this post showed indication that I knew the model was changed, that's why I said "altered model". I want source of someone skinning the original on the HD Model. If you find a source please let me know.

But thank you for trying to look into it before hand! :)

The tool to extract the skins is up above the post, just extract the texture of Tidus and use Gimp or Photoshop and use crop tool and resize tool and shade blending to get the original look. Not to difficult, but I am not in no hurry to texture at the moment. It will have to be at another time of day.

Example: a picture of ps2 Tidus, crop out eyes and then past them on the HD rip texture eyes and resize to proper layout. = original eyes then use the ink dropper to copy its color and blend it a bit to enhance detail. , etc etc, blend skin over eye shadow, etc.

Never retextured anything but i´ll give it a try when i have the time, what i was asking was if there is a way to extract the mesh not just the textures.

There is no way of extracting the meshes currently.
The PC version of Phyre meshes (D3D11) is different than PS2 (PS3 too by the way).
There's also unfortunately no interest at Xentax about researching the PC structure. :/

Shame, heard Topher, creator of the farplane tool, was gonna add mod support to the game and possibly model and audio replacement.

Yeah I understand that Maki, but If you pull up a straight 1080p screen shot emulated to a jpeg, full face you can share two windows In Gimp and just crop the textures from the jpeg to the rip texture from FFXHD.  Just align the layout in size and rotation, then polish it up by hand, then save as the texture format then just put it in the injection folder in the Project X directory.

As for Topher, his support ripping application is already here Metalink (also shared in the Project X forum with link).  Extract from FFX HD (DATA) directory. the files are in VBF format.

I'm sorry, but I think you misunderstood. Mesh is geometry, a set of points(called vertex) in 3D space connected between. Mesh is 3D Model or 3D object. This for example:
(see the grid/fishnet like thing).

So I did, my apologize. It be nice to tinker with meshes but i only tampered on textures mostly. I wonder if extracting the Data of the VBF files might contain those meshes.

So the model files are in the .dae.phyre format, since they are collada maybe the bones are included.

There´s also another file in every model folder that ends in .ags.phyre, i assume these are animations.

The header for PCs is "RYHPT...˜V..11XD". For weapons monsters and objects it is: "RYHPT...MQ..11XD"

Made a quick and dirty retexture with the PS2 textures upscaled to 2x by Waifu (Face and eyes Only)

Also did one for Yuna

Biggest issues with the new textures are the eyes, they're too shiny, too lifeless, so i upscaled the ps2 ones and they look very good. For Yuna i replaced the eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes and the mouth.

This is what the textures looked while the HD remaster was being developed

And this is my work so far:

Why does her face look so much better on PS2??? I think it has something to do with the lighting or something.

Different 3d artist. Tidus face was different in the fmv's already so it's actually hard to tell which face is better. I think all styles didn't get the 2d art right in 3d. It's hard to tell if it is the face of a male or female character.

The PS2 didn't support normal or specular maps, so the artists only had diffuse textures to work with.

The PS2 ones look better IMO, since they put more care into them, unlike the HD ones where they just slapped new textures and modified their face structure for some reason, also the FFX-2 models only changed the geometry slightly.

And here's Rikku only changed the eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows:
