Troubleshooting / Remako mod transitions

do any of you guys use this mod? the images look great, but it takes a while to transition to one scene/background to another. (when it's off it's almost instantaneous). is this normal or my PC is too potato for this mod?

7th Heaven / FPS drop in certain areas

Hello guys, I recently bought the steam version just to play the new threat mod. (It's awesome, thanks Sega Chief for the excellent work.)
Anyway, unfortunately I am having some FPS drops in certain areas, for example, at the mako reactor from the beginning, or Aeris' house. The rest of the game plays as it should, 30 fps in the field, 15 battle and 60 on menus. But in these areas I mentioned I get below 30, so something like 27 and even 25. It looks like slow motion in some cases.

I am using 7th heaven 2.0 for this, tried tweaking evething in the game drive options, but only gained 1 fps at max.
my laptop should be powerful enough to run this. these are the specs:

AMD Ryzen 3500U 2.1GHz
8GB RAM
Radeon 540X series

When I play the vanilla steam version, the game's performance is fine tho. As of now I have two installation paths, the original and in another directory, since 7th asked to copy the game files to another path since it wouldn't work otherwise.

If this was covered in another topic I apologize in advance, I looked but didn't find anything this specific.
Help me out please.
