you can keep model overhaul on and use nino's models at the same time if you install nino's direct version of the mod in CUSTOM rather than GLOBAL, then Nino's models will just overwrite the full sized models

That worked like a charm, and after I finally learned how to use CUSTOM folder I started combining multiple mods together for ultimate FF VII experience.

Thank you, your advice is much appreciated.  :)

Someone around here may know, but the best place to ask about Reunion stuff would probably be their community/Discord.

Having said that, it is possible to use 7th Heaven mods and FFNx (which is required by a lot of 7th Heaven mods) on Linux. You just have to unpack the iro's and put things in the correct directories. Of course it won't be as easy as using the 7H GUI, but it'll be about the same process as installing mods on Reunion.

Also, love the Eva theme you got going on.

I followed -Ori's advice on using CUSTOM folder in The Reunion and it worked. I managed to run Ninostyle character mod with character overhaul option turned on and it looks great now. I saw some moves going on, on 7th Heaven's GitHub page, towards Proton compatibility. Maybe devs will manage to make it work with Steam on Linux eventually.

I love Evangelion, read manga and watched anime, including Rebuild of Evangelion, multiple times. Definitely my favs next to Mamoru Oshi's and Makoto Shinkai's work.

Hi all,

I moved to Linux sometime ago and using 7th heaven is not an option for me now since it just doesn't work either with Wine or Proton. The Reunion, on the other hand, works flawlessly. Unfortunately there are only a few mods ready to work out of the box with The Reunion. I have SYW 4 installed along with Ninostyle character mod (both dl'd from The Reunion website). The only thing is I don't want to use Nino's chibi models, although they're great, full sized ones look better IMHO. And here comes the problem. Model overhaul needs to be tunned off for Nino's models to work with Reunion and that creates discrepancy between Nino's mod and the rest of the game. Is there a way to retain full scale characters and add full scale NPCs with Reunion without having model overhaul turned on?

All help is highly appreciated, thank you!

Hi

i signed up to ask what i wrong exactly with my setup, i followed the YT video (35minutes long) but it seems outdated since i have the FF8Remastered 1.0.3 which means the demaster mod isn't working with however i did get the menus Tech font/style working other than that everything looks the same !!!

Demaster is not working again after a really short time the 1.0.2 update has been patched by it. It seems we need to wait until Maki finds some time and releases another patch. Seriously, this guy is awesome with everything he's done for the community so far!

Hi people! I'm looking for some help on how to use the Demaster program, with the Remaster version.

So far I have DL'd the latest version of the program, went through the installation instructions where it creates the DEMASTER_EXP folder, and stuck all mod 'texture' folders inside the DEMASTER_EXP folder.

Is there anything else I should be doing? Because (so far) nothing seems to have changed? I even have the SeeDRemaster UI mod (Demaster version) with the new colour icons, gradients, etc. but nothing has changed at all?

I have a feeling the Demaster program (when running) that the black box shouldn't be blank/black? Or is that normal?

Many thanks :)

This tut on YT should help.

Guys.

If 7th Heaven doesn't work for you and you have no problem with using The Reunion, just go this way. Installing Reunion is crazy simple and it works, at least on Mint 20.3.

Here is a tut on how to do that.

You need The Reunion, obviously, and a tool called protontricks, which is a wrapper for Winetricks running commands for Proton. You also need Wine with Winetricks. Protontricks was in the Mint's repo, I'm not sure about other distros though. I had to install additional depenedencies before protontricks (python3-vdf in my case), but in the end it works like a charm.

I tried a crazy thing, unfortunately failed miserably (on Pop!_OS 21.04). I replaced FF7_Launcher.exe file with the one from 7th Heaven (just by renaming files) and I got 7th Heaven run directly from Steam. Unfortunately after selecting all paths in general settings and pressing Play 7th Heaven froze completely. Are there any dependencies which need to be installed, apart from .net4.52, in order to run 7th Heaven with Wine/Proton, like additional DirectX library or Visual C++ Redist?

Is there old version of 7th Heaven avialable for download so I could try to use that instead?

Best regards.
