I used omega to convert all the tex files to bmps. It was annoying because some of the original tex files have up to 30 palettes. Then I opened the bmps in photoshop un-indexed the color palettes, resized, filtered and saved as png. It was a simple process, but doing it 2600 times was really boring.

And that's how you become an "insane poster" ;) Amazing work really! After what I read I don't think i really care about grey pixels!

You're way over complicating things. Sounds like you have your modpath folder named bootleg. So just copy the entire contents of the data folder and place them into your bootleg folder. It just come down to what you named your modpath folder. Mine is named Data to more closely follow the original folder and lgp format, but it doesn't matter what that folder is called. You could have titled it bananas, and as long as the config file tells the driver to look at the bananas folder for external pngs and they are properly organized they will load.

My modpath address is C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\mods\data
Sounds like yours is C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\mods\bootleg

Only one modpath allowed. Put everything in the same folder.

So the folder is "data". I put the folder in my Bootleg folder as it is. I'm just asking because inside the data folder there are folders named "battle", "magic" and such which are placed in different folder inside Bootleg folder... Thank you!

Congratulations for all the work that's been done... It's really amazing everyone! The least I could contribute is some videos. Well I'm replacing eidoslogo.avi, sqlogo.avi and opening.avi with some cool videos. Goal is to explain the starter story in a smoother way for someone that's not familiar with the game. The videos I edited are from youtube and i will post my sources as soon as I post the links for download. I am currently rendering the sqlogo.avi and I wish it works fine (I'm rendering into 1080p so it will take some time with adobe premier, afterwards I need to rerender it into 1280x960 with mp4 to avi to work in the game). I use resolution 1280x960 for my 32'' screen and i play on 1920x1080. Thanks and I hope you enjoy those ;)!

If someone is more familiar with the new adobe cs5.5 I would appreciate any help provided. For example I cannot understand why when I export the video sound is always uncompressed. If some can work better on my videos I will be so glad. I will post the links as soon as I upload them on mediafire (i have some connection issues with my ISP lately, suddenly speed dropped to    578 / 2.851 from 1.000/12.000 !!! and things are a little slow since then).

Just a tiny progress update... I tested all 3 filed and work wonderful with my settings! I thought of color correcting the eidoslogo.avi once more. As soon as I test it I will try to upload the files and share :)) . My damn ISP has cut down my speed since Friday and after all that happened with Sopa Acta Pipa (ACTA was actually approved in my country-Greece) i"m getting suspicious of what's really going on here!!! Conspiracy theories are truly passing through my mind...

3. Opening avi by Grimmy http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8414.msg101495#msg101495 in combination with the technical demo. I could say that I did some work on those two to combine the scene with the train and the Cloud scene from Crisis Core.

Now working on opening.avi... it's becoming very good! I have corrected some things but it needs some work to become better...

***UPDATE*** Finally I'm releasing my 2 last videos and I can say I complete my trilogy setup for FFVII FMV intro remake (quadrology if you include prelude too)

I've been planning to redo my older mods like that one to use higher resolution images in modpath. After doing that it would make it easy for you to mix and match it with the other modpath prelude so you could have pics and names.

I was wondering if I have to add a mod path as textures because I noticed it's Bootleg by default in opengl.cfg with lots of pngs there. If I want to add a path I add it with comma? ex. mod_path = bootleg, textures. Do we put the png files in textures or in Bootleg? Thanks!

I use my own fmv that I renamed as sqlogo.avi. I renamed my sqlogo avi (which is apparently a non official ff video which i converted to use in the game) into eidoslogo.avi and I renamed sqlogo.avi into sqlogo_bkp.avi so the program will not be able to use it (yes I tried leaving it as a dummy video too). As I formerly reported when I press A button in my xbox controller it keeps skiping the video and goes straight to the loading screen (I use the background with Crisis Core Cloud). Either I'm doing something wrong nor there's no way to reach the prelude screen without watching the whole sqlogo or eidoslogo video. Thanks for replying but I'm still searching a way to solve this. Until then I'm preparing a new fmv for sqlogo and opening from crisis core ending mixed with the technical demo which I hope to release in your forum when it's finished. Thank you!

I thought the field Tifa model with the red skirt was just for some part of the game and I installed it. Now I'm looking for the original but not that blocky one or the updated. I wish there was a high res model of the original Tifa with updated graphics like this one! Well I found the AC model but with the skirt which does not match with the game timeline exactly...

Is there a way to skip sqlogo.avi without skipping credits so as to directly watch credits. I use new_prelude mod with Sephiroth Cloud backgroung and I was also wondering if there's any way to load the little pictures with the names at the same time. I used the cr png file, deleted the background pngs so now it loads the names without the pictures. Thanks for any help provided!

I played on a 32" crt tv i think everything looked small kos of the cable i used ah well doesn't matter anymore i switched back to my normal pc monitor

I'm on 32'' Samsung lcd widescreen. I use 1920x1080 resolution in opengl.cfg, videos encoded in 1280x960. DLPB's menu overhaul mod with break9999limit disabled. Looks fine ;). I wonder if there's any way to skip sqlogo.avi without skipping prelude credits. I use new prelude with Sephiroth Cloud Background.

My audio .dat file is 0kb! I can't find it anywhere. I forgot to back it up. When I type e do i need to type the path of the folder where the program recovers the wav files? When I just type e the program exits. The folder needs to have only the wav files? Please help! I can't hear any sounds now

I am beginning to be concerned that these mods will draw negative attention from Square-Enix... They are so hq, if they want to make a new FF7 it's almost like it will be 3rd version.

haha +1000 modders are in dawn of a new ff7 since they unleashed those "dogs" it's hard to hold them caged anymore :D:D

Fantastic! Wonderful job everyone! Time for me to give some credits for all the hard work that has been done in your community! I haven't slept for ages, finished modding crysis apart from the new weapon mods with the new physics, and took a break to setup a clean install off ffvii in my new 4 core i5 pc with the mods. Encountered a lot of issues with shaders though and I turned them off. I'm currently keeping char.lgp open have already copied FF7-PRP's contents only for char, but I noticed that DLPB proposed to include your remodeling in a new Overhaul setup. Is this true? I'm not going to close my char lgp then. I wish there was a fully new remix with all the mods together! Good luck with your work! Love it!
