Get out while you still can

I ask because I'm curious how prevalent this phenomena is.

Pedophilia stems beyond the hacking community if that is what you are asking. Pedos exist everywhere, including communities that you are likely involved with. Sadly it is only the ones who get caught that make you realize this fact. I mean, just look at Jared from Subway, the most unsuspecting guy with the most innocuous occupation.

Any straightforward way to get this data into a form that could be used in a DAW/synthesizer?

Very cool stuff, psx sounds were fantastic

FF7 Tools / Re: [FF7PC] Mod manager - 7thHeaven (v1.52)
« on: 2016-10-01 03:09:02 »
That did the trick! It looks like it was auto flagged despite coming from within a downloaded archive. I was able to get it up and running just fine, although I don't have ff7 on it to test. I'll have to dig out a copy

Doesn't run at all for me on Windows 10, not even an error message.

61
I'll see about getting travis-ci building from the repo if you grant me access, haven't used a continuous integration service with bitbucket OR a .net project yet, which could be interesting

If you could possibly list those deps, that could potentially save some investigating

No piece of software is infallible. However, the Windows platform are what games are generally developed for and Windows 10 is the latest version of Windows. This one is really your best bet, and the only one that will get serious support from developers seeing how it has been out for over a year now and has a lot of market penetration.

I'll take a crack at it. There's definitely something funky going on in the mod list view that slows the ui down. Might redo in a platform agnostic base. This was made in .NET right?

Our 'main' catalog should honestly be in the program from the get go. UI is functional but a little annoying to get up and going the first time

Taking that a step further, it would be totally doable to even manage a 'reunion' install of the game. If you want to use the translation, the app makes a copy of the game dir and installs it there. Turn off the reunion, then the app executes the mod friendly version of the game. (If dlpb wanted to do that of course.)

Finding mods in the catalog should also be searchable and filterable.

By my measure, you could then do just about anything from qhimm through this one app. No need to read 50 pages of forum posts or use the forum search

The problem with the scene is that, between bad audio directing, script and animation, a lot of people didn't connect the dots that he was laughing ironically, as opposed to weird behavior that came out of nowhere.

He's a winner in my eyesbecause he totally owns the joke. He did an amazing job as Ratchet in Rachet and Clank, but he'll probably be remembered for this, sadly

Code: [Select]
“As a Shin-Ra scholar,he researched
the mysteries of the Ancients. He was an
  incredibly honest and sincere person,and
  not at all what you’d expect from Shin-Ra.”{NEW}
There should not be a comma before "and" in the second sentence unless both sides could also stand alone... but I'm not convinced this should be "and" at all. This reads like it needs an em dash.

No love for the oxford comma? I think this could go both ways in the sense that a pause could be made before the 'and'

So here's some stuff to think about, I'll loosely paraphrase and possibly get some of the details wrong:

Intel uses a naming convention that goes like
  • Product line: i3, i5, i7 are the good ones, Pentium and others are super budget
  • Architecture: 6XXX is Skylake which came out this year, 5XXX is older, 3XXX is a few years old
  • Power Draw: Y is very low power (~5 Watts), U (~15-25 Watts), H/HQ (~45 Watts)

A lot of these chips have iGPUs which are part of the CPU(all on the same die), which have their own naming convention like HD5000 graphics.

An Intel Core i3 3XXXH chip is 45 Watts, it isn't as fast as an i7 HQ chip, but it is much faster than an i7 U or Y variant. This goes doubly for the iGPU that is included in those CPUs. So HDXXXX graphics in a 45 Watt i5 would smoke the HDXXXX graphics in an i7 U or Y chip.

Bottom line is go with the 45 Watt CPU if you can, this also improves its integrated graphics (I think, I haven't researched this in a while)

The high power integrated Intel graphics can absolutely run FF7 without a problem, especially if your chip is relatively new. I doubt you'll find a worthwhile dedicated GPU at that price range(if you do, definitely go with that).

Check out the dell outlet, they sell refurb machines which are essentially brand new most of the time, but marked down substantially.

Pro tip: Use the coupon codes, they'll cut the listed price nearly in half

General Discussion / Re: The Nightmare Begins + Others

I love The Nightmare Begins, that song gives me immediate dungeon feels. Nicely played too :)

If we are sharing soundclouds, I just recorded this a few weeks ago with Cubase. Drums are programmed.

Hopefully I'll get to a skill level some day where I can recreate these, and they would actually sound good

What I don't understand, is why someone would call a piece of software a joke just by virtue of the time spent in creating it.

"It has taken SE ten years to roll out a game. What a JOKE, no one should by this GARBAGE, why do people STAND for it!"

I genuinely do not see the logic here.

71
The time argument should be a plus, they spend an enormous amount of dev time(expensive) and you still pay the same price, what a steal!

They don't owe you anything, and unless you've worked there, you wouldn't know about their management.

There certainly are women who would satisfy your equation, but only a subset of all women.

I wonder if this is what math people do in their free time

73
It is really sad to see how entitled gamers are. Game dev is incredibly difficult, most have zero concept of what that entails. It's done when it's done.

This proj should be approached from a feasibility pov at this point, go for it you madmen

Why regress all the way back to 2007 codebase? Looks like Ogre has a new version out, api docs are still wack
