So, here it is, the revised version.



Personally though, since the position of the sword itself is not that interesting, it really doesn't temp the artistic part of my brain to work. So I myself don't really like this piece. Which means... again, give some input here guys. thanks in advance.

PS: here's the same buster sword in its WIP state which some of you might have seen.

That's because I cheated the light on the floor, it's supposed to be much more elongated, but due to the fact that I'm making this with the original art as reference, well, this is what I come up with. In the original art, the spotlight looks like that as well, so I cheated the lighting a bit to match that odd shaped light on the floor.

edit: btw, please give me some input as to how I can improve the look of the image. Do you think I should try and make my own version of lighting setup with basically the same angle as the original art rather than settling for that stupid looking light on the floor?

Or if you guys want to see it from a different angle or different position, drop me a line right here in this thread. Thanks for the comments.

I've finished the opening menu pic that someone (sorry, I forgot who) asked me to make for the PRP project. so here it is.

I can bake texture to a loRes model. It's pretty easy. But to my understanding, most people here have enough problem modifying the character model, so putting the sword into the game should be no problem, however, putting the hiRes model into the game might upset the fps or it might also make the game not playable... It's just an opinion though. As far as texture goes, I think 512x512 is more than enough considering the rest of the object in the game are not that detailed, texture-wise.

Edit: BTW, apz freak has made a good lores buster sword model, pretty much like mine. And in his thread, he mentioned something about releasing the file to us :)

Yesterday, I tried reinstalling the 1.02 patch and all the other patches. Tried creating one (I duped it to 99 save crystals) on the first area after you drop down from highwind and it worked. I suppose it's okay now. thanks!

Hi, I have some problems with my FF7 PC. It's patched using FFVII 1.02 (The Nvidia patch) in conjunction with [The_SaiNt]_High_Res_FF7PC_Patcher, and I got to the point in the game in which we can create a save point anywhere in the last dungeon ( northern cave ), but whenever I try to create one, the game freezes. Can anyone help?

sure thing.. how do I do that? I've changed and tweaked some of the textures on the sword, but I haven't uploaded the picture on this forum yet. So if anyone from the PRP project wants to use this pic, I'll be more than happy to supply it. Just tell me the angle and the lighting mood that you guys want, and I'll post it here.

And a very touching scene that one was. That is, if you've played Crisis Core. That FMV is so very touching to me that I feel so obligated to get back to this forum which I have left for roughly half a year. Funny thing is, Cloud didn't bury Zack!? So, what happened to the body? Hahahahaa.... Anyway, the secret ending after the credit roll makes people believe that FF7 remake for PS3 is well on the way.

I tried it step by step.. but looks like I need much more help understanding it. When I tried to extract the model, take Vincent for example, I noticed that there several files containing the same model.. so which one do I use..

Argh.. what's the use... can anyone please upload the char.lgp for me  :cry:
And if anyone need any help with the modeling and texturing in 3dsmax.. I might be able to help  :wink:

You do know that if you play FF IX on the latest emulator, you'll get a much better visual and much more crisp detail going on. Which is as close as you can get to play the PC version of the game.

By skinning, I meant bone objects that can affect geometry so that it slides at the joints as opposed to just cut the geometry to pieces and link them to the bones. Hm.. nice argument about the SD thing.. Well, in that case, I salute you guys... And please teach me to mod...  :mrgreen: I'd like to have a version on my own too..  :-P Thanks...

Hi I'm new here... and can I say, WOW! How did you get the KH models? Wouldn't it be great if you can put the models from KH2 into the game?

BTW, though I don't actually approve the use of realistic models for your mod, but don't you think that the game looks weird? Changing the battle models is a great idea, but changing the super deformed characters to the realistic models makes the game looks so unlike FF7 that we've come to love.. Rather, I think, changing the super deformed into a different, more advent children-look but still super deformed (the models can be modeled after the FF7 gasaphon figures) so that the game still look and feel like the original one. Besides, since I'm an animator myself, I know that it's much easier to model and put them back into the game what with the engine not supporting skinning and all. But that's just my thoughts and ideas... No offense whatsoever is intended here.. So PEACE guys!
