FF7Voice / Re: FF7 Voices - assessing interest
« on: 2014-07-09 06:47:08 »
My normal speaking voice has a slightly country accent. (Southern united states.)
If that could help with any characters or npcs id be down. Would consider a main character as well if it. (I could alter my speech to mask the accent easily.)
Ive been looking to give back to this forum in some way for awhile now!

Hope this isn't too much of a necropost, but were corruption issues in the files ever fixed? My disc 2 1 and 2 are messed up. Ill keep working on opening them

Edit: it looks like redownloading is doing the trick, sorry for the useless post!!

28
gotcha gotcha. Yeah i can imagine that would happen pretty easily taking on a project like this.

29
Is it still only through the first disc?

Also, im not positive, but I think my problem had to do with window sizes due to running with parallels on a mac.

I tried to go fullscreen (fullscreen with parallels in respect to my mac, not the game) in the middle of the game and the window issue reappeared. Otherwise its fine.

I hope that made some kind of sense!

The nightmare files are the only ones I've  recently downloaded that are in use with my current install. Ill have a lookthrough this afternoon. It'll be "fun" haha

well I reinstalled everything, didn't update a thing and its running fine now. Lol, I dont understand but problem solved i guess?

Really love this mod Tenko

31
Hmm, well I have had alot of the same mod files for running bootleg in a folder for probably around two years now, so ill probably see if any of them (particularly the ones you two mentioned) need updating. If that doesn't work ill open a help thread.

Thanks for the input!

32
I've installed it using bootleg three or four times now, so I'll probably try your second suggestion. Good to know where its coming from though!

Is it possible that the file(s) I have downloaded for the overhaul are just outdated?

Loving your use of save points by the way, this should be fun once I can get it going.

33
Anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

None of the other character's dialogue is appearing at all, no "c'mon newcomer follow me, hey whats your name." The command box in battle is also cropped in a funny way. And no dialogue box appears when I pick up the item from the fallen soldier.
I installed the full flevel manually (copy and paste over the other) after running bootleg. Could that be it?

(in this screen cap i was playing in a window, playing in fullscreen fixed nothing, but does make graphics and game speed better)

Also, what other info should i provide and would this be better off in the bootleg help page?

Thanks ahead of time

What would you consider consistently solid animation in a series, Tenko?

It is a lot easier I think to come across traditionally animated movies with consistent top notch animation than it is with a series.

I can't think of one that doesn't adjust it in some way, honestly. If you're interested, there are tools available that could probably do this.

You would just have to be willing to do the work yourself!

You might find what youre looking for with this:

http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=10958.0

I would recommend installing it with the bootleg installer available.

Here is the tutorial for that:

Have fun :]

I would agree with you cmh but I've worked retail at a big electronics place and dealt with similar minded people whose second language was english. This guy kinda reminds me of that. My faith in humanity makes me wish he is a troll though.

39
lol jesus christ dude youre probably not gettin any help after that. Bootleg was made to streamline the modding process for people that didn't have the knowledge to install individual mods on their own. Before she even compiled her tutorial there were plenty of people that figured out how to run it on their own just from reading threads. I was one.

Now she has this awesome tutorial and faq that she compiled herself, for no other reason than to be considerate for people that still couldn't get it or didnt want to try, and you're

stillllll going to berate her, for something you can't figure out? It's not like she is on salary working customer service for this forum or some crap, you need to get it together. I wouldn't be surprised if you get banned now.

And you're not better than her by a long shot because she understood bootleg well enough, and how to collaborate with other human beings in an intelligent, considerate manner, to write a tutorial on it. You can't even figure it out with immense hand holding.  :o

As long as sex with the same gender is not included, I'd love to have a part time job like yours... I would keep my main one though since I earn a normal wage.

Lmao, same thoughts here. I don't think you made a bad decision at all

Ah, I didn't realize that, either way your works very generous so I was just stating you do a great job lmao  :P And you aren't supposed to skip the converter even if playing with the original?

It def. Updates all the npcs, gives them regular hands and body shape and reshades them and stuff

Yehp, pretty sure you won't find those here. They'll ban you and everything.
Particularly the cloud and tifa one I saw. Unless someone has redone them in the last year or so and I didn't know.

there's a couple ac inspired character models youll find in bootleg, like for barret tifa and yuffie, but if you see others on youtube that aren't available through bootleg, chances are theyre illegal and you wont find  them around here. I think people just rips those from copyrighted games like dissidia and crisis core, the ones you see on qhimm are made from scratch.

As for anything audio related, I couldnt tell you because i just choose one of the presets on bootleg. If no one can help you through this thread, Id go look around the audio board and try to find a thread where someone mentioned customization. I wouldn't know a thing in the world about implementing different tracks into the game.

the ac mods you see online that aren't available on bootleg are illegal rips and aren't supported around here

Ahhh, gotcha. Still wasn't relevant to me as I have the old version so I guess thats why I skipped over it.

EVEN SO, zherot, the tutorial clearly says to just download the converter, not run it. I'm sure bootleg runs it during its whole process.

Lmao, thanks for the correction though Rundas, I'm just trying to help where I can.

If you're fine playing the game in english Im pretty sure you can skip that step completely.

Theres also a step in the bootleg process where a txt file will open and usually mention some errors like missing files, i cant remember what part, but if thats what youre talking about, It's normal and is mentioned on bootleg as normal and in eq2alyza's tutorial as normal.

Im not sure about the whole blank iso or movie loader thing because I totally skipped the converter part. Because I'm pretty sure its whole point is to be able to easily translate the game's texts.

Lol try to be a little more considerate, it can be difficult to construct an air tight tutorial on something like this because bootleg has been an ongoing project involving lots of mods and there are plenty of variables involved.

Keep in mind too that bootleg isnt even eq2alyza's project, she just took the time to write a comprehensive tutorial for people that didn't want to learn with existing material on this forum or couldn't and wouldn't stop bothering her.

Anyway, hope i helped a little bit.  :)

I would say most of what you're worried about can be avoided/accomplished.

2. You can play the game with a gamepad, I think this depends heavily on what type you're using. I have a cheap generic one that picks up fine in windows 7 with no third parties.

1. Not sure about inserting custom tracks, but bootleg gives you plenty of choices with music other than midi files.

3. Bootleg is very stable, you just have to find the right configurations for your machine and possible do some troubleshooting. This all depends on your set up. I would run through the tifa's bootleg tutorial and look through faqs to see if people have had problems you could see yourself having.

4. Not sure on this one, most likely going to depend on your computers set up.

5. You can switch models with certain tools, idk about music. Their are tools available that allow you also to manipulate save files and change character stats, item counts, etc.

Theres a thread here also with countless save files that you can always download too. And if something is missing in the file you find closest to yours, the tool "black chocobo" can help you alter it.

Troubleshooting / Newbish saves question
« on: 2013-11-04 02:10:38 »
Is there a source with pc saves around? Had to reinstall my game and forgot to back those up. Or can something like a trainer or black chocobo entirely create saves?

The search function is not working for me and I've looked around with no definitive answers.

Thanks in advance guys.
