However I also came across the problem FL-BSE v0.1.1UPD.zip link sends you to the download for FL-BSE v0.1.zip which someone else also asked, but there was no answer.

This error is known and is on my list:

   Links are mixed FL-BSE v0.1.zip <-> FL-BSE v0.1.1 UPD.zip

Releases / Re: [REL/FF7] gjoerulv's "Hardcore" mod. v1.0.5
« on: 2012-03-06 20:27:53 »
@Boooster:

I'm still not fully clear on whether or not to patch to 1.02 before running bootleg or if that is done automatically...  The version I have is 1.00 - should I patch beforehand?

  • Final Fantasy 7, english, Maximum Install

  • Start BFE.exe (Bootleg Front End) and select what you like

  • Hit the big red button  > Run Bootleg <

  • Now the Bootleg installer does his job (Patch 1.02, Aali's driver, mods, ...)

@Juvi: Execute .\FF7Music\FF7Music.exe and compare your setup with my screenshots:

@indrema: When you use this modified version of main.frag you can use the
                  use_shaders = yes parameter without having this problem
                  (everything is made of light)

@Future^Bacon: Do you mean this file :  FacePalmer.zip.torrent
                            It is used to download FacePalmer via Torrent.
                            If you don't know how to use Torrent's, then you should forget this file.  ;)

                            You can download the .zip or the .rar version of FacePalmer.
                            The .rar version is easier to install.
                            The Bootleg installer recognizes both versions.

                            ! You need only one version !

@Sirjhonson: I hope you have more luck with this link: U001.exe  (MediaFire)

I suggest people wait until U002 before using this since there are some bugs to iron and I am changing installer slightly so the Menu Overhaul is fully compatible with the installer.

PS - I can't seem figure out a way to skip FMVs - I'm pretty sure I did check an option allowing this when installing everything.  Is there anything I can do now without re-installing?

To skip FMVs:  CTRL + S

Hi indrema,

if you are updating your
   Final Fantasy VII ITA Reloaded 1.1.0 - an italian compilation mod

please add these modifications:
  • ff7_opengl.cfg :  use_shaders = yes

  • Download this file and copy it to .\shaders\nolightmain.frag
    (overwrite? => YES)

134
Hi Future^Bacon,

you should go to this topic: Team Avalanche Releases

I have send you a PM with further informations.

Hi DLPB,

which Cloud model are you using in your movie ?
Did i miss something ?

The sound and the subtitles fit well together.  ;)
I get a feeling like watching a heroic movie.
And Cloud with his roman armor completes the cinematic scene.

Super quick test

I like it.

@Iecerint: Thanks for the hint (ff7input.cfg), that's the one i was searching for.

Those missing texture errors are harmless.
Grimmy corrected most of the battle models so they will no longer produce missing texture errors.
The errors don't affect the game.

Your configuration:
  • Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650

  • Dedicated Memory: 249 MB

  • Current Mode: 1280 x 800

ff7_opengl.cfg

You should change these parameters:

enable_postprocessing = no
use_pbo = no   <= ! ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650

Using the Bootleg default install, I haven't noticed any major FMV changes other than retranslation (which I noticed in the Niblheim flashback).  Is this normal, or should the FMVs be noticeably improved?  I just chose all the default options.

I was searching for your FMV problem, but i didn't found anything which could
cause it. If you want i could connect to your computer via >TeamViewer<

You can also do a little test by yourself:
  • Download this program ff7moviedirr2.zip

  • Change the movie folder ( FF7 \movies ) to your CD drive ( e.g. E: )

  • Put the first CD in your drive (not the installation CD)

  • Start FF7 and compare the movies you see now with those you saw before

Thank you.  ;D

@e1sunz: I have read this message 2 or 3 times asking myself
  • does he need help ?   NO

  • is he happy with his installation ?   YES

  • should i answer ?   i don't know what to write
                                   let's wait for the first answer

@Iecerint:

Can you upload your version of the Laptop Keyboard Patch ?
Every version i found via Google is the same as used with the Bootleg installation.

I found mine via google search.  Someone had posted a modified config file.

Using the Bootleg default install, I haven't noticed any major FMV changes other than retranslation (which I noticed in the Niblheim flashback).  Is this normal, or should the FMVs be noticeably improved?  I just chose all the default options.

I need the following data for further analysis:

  • Used options (BFE.exe -> Presets:SAVE)

  • Bootleg.log

  •    FF7 \ APP.log
    ( FF7 \ FF7Music \ APP.log )

  • FF7 \ FF7Music \ FF7Music.log

  • ff7_opengl.cfg

  • Run dxdiag.exe -> SAVE:DxDiag.txt

Upload the compressed (.zip/.rar/.7z)  files (please make one archive) onto MediaFire.

Hi Kemelor,

you should change these parameters in ff8_opengl.cfg :
  • window_size_x = 640  or  1280
    window_size_y = 480  or    960

  • Do you have any mods installed ?

    mod_path = avalanche  <== look at the .\mods folder
                                                              e.g. .\mods\avalanche

  • use_shaders = yes

  • compress_textures = no

  • use_pbo = yes

  • Add these lines at the bottom:

    # Disable Error Notifications
    disable_popup = on

Download this file and copy it to .\shaders\nolightmain.frag
(overwrite? => YES)

For further analysis i need this file:  Run dxdiag.exe -> SAVE:DxDiag.txt

Hi Tifatree,

i have analyzed your files.
  • You can't find this file: FF7 \ FF7Music \ FF7Music.log
    Thats weird.
    Do you use the icon(s) on your desktop (made by the Bootleg installation) to start FF7 ?
    The target for the Final Fantasy VII icon should look like this:
       "C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\FF7Music\launchff7.exe"

    hmm, I have only just noticed I only have 11gb free space at the moment and I read somewhere this needs 16gb to install properly? I may have to run bootleg again if this may have caused me problems...

    You don't have space problems at the moment.  ;)

  • You graphics card configuration:
    (DxDiag.txt)

    • NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440-SE

    • Display Memory: 64 MB

    • Current Mode: 1024 x 768

    • Driver Version: 6.14.0010.4523

    • Driver Date: 7/28/2003

  • As you can see, your driver is very outdated (2003).
    Normally i would suggest you to simply update your driver, but i can't find
    any support for your old graphics card in the available drivers from NVIDIA.

    The only thing you can do, is to test if the installation on your system is
    successful. I have found two driver versions:

    ! Please make at first a full Backup of your system !

    • Download from NVIDIA (295.73)

    • LaptopVideo2go
         => 295.73 Windows XP 32bit
          => Click here to download driver and INF files.
           => Click here to download the requested driver.
            => 29573.exe

@raulgulino: If you read this you will be convinced to use the Bootleg

Haven't yet reran bootleg for the FMV and enhanced movies part but I've had a bit of a play with what did install and MY GOSH...

1. Got a new PC and decided to dig up my old copy of FFVII.
2. Looked forward to adding a few mods.
3. Ended up using bootleg instead of a few random mods...
4. Completely fell in love with FFVII again.

Seriously, my game looks stunning, I'm so excited to play it like this! Have experienced no crashing problems whatsoever which is new to me. :)
...
I Highly recommend bootleg to anyone looking to mod FFVII. It might take a while to DL all the files but A) It is so worth it. B) Definitly faster than doing a ton of mods individually. C) The provided fixes are a godsend <3 Great work! BIG BIG Thank you to everyone involved. :)

144
@raulgulino: I have no problem to understand you.  :)
                     I don't use Nod32, but can you exclude files/folders in the setup ?

145
@raulgulino: I can download all parts without problems.
                     Tell me if you still can't download the 10th part,
                     i will upload this file on Google Docs then.

146
@Iecerint: Try this when you have problems to make a screenshot of FF7:
  • Open ff7_opengl.cfg with any text editor (Notepad, ...)

  • Change these parameters:

    • window_size_x = 640
    • window_size_y = 480
    • fullscreen         = no    <= !

  • Start FF7

  • Hit ALT+Print Scrn when you want to make a screenshot

  • Hit the Windows-key, enter mspaint  => mspaint.exe
    Start this program

  • Hit CTRL+V  => you should see your FF7 screen now
    Hit CTRL+S  => save your screenshot

147
@Tifatree: When your FF7 crashes again, i need the following data for further analysis:
                 (upload the ZIP'd files onto MediaFire)

  • Used options (BFE.exe -> Presets:SAVE)

  • Bootleg.log

  •   FF7 \ APP.log
    ( FF7 \ FF7Music \ APP.log )

  • FF7 \ FF7Music \ FF7Music.log

  • ff7_opengl.cfg

  • Run dxdiag.exe -> SAVE:DxDiag.txt

148
  • Thanks for your explanation and the screenshot;D
    Now i understand the problem.
    To check all these displayed links is the next point on my list.  :)

  • Absolutely right. If a file is marked red in this list, the file is needed
    for the installation but not found in the Mod Source folder.

    => Bootleg.exe cannot find the mod ==> Bootleg.log: ERROR

    Can you see what i see ?

    Trish(aka Mike)'s custom model pack.7z
       Trish(aka Mike) Weapon, magic & save point models
       Qhimm FILE

    I can reproduce this error.
    Some download manager delete this sign: '     >:(

@Tifatree: I am helping you with your download problems at your topic:
                    Trojaks ff7 enhanced movies mod. Alternate Download?

@Lion: Please post the filenames of the FMVs (from Grimmy) which are
            not recognized by Bootleg0037.

Alternative:
  • Decompress the archives by yourself.

  • After the Bootleg installation, move all files (NO folders) into
    this FF7 folder:  .\movies   (overwrite? => YES)

@Iecerint:
  • Please make a screenshot, so we can see what you see.  ;)
