So I know this was from a few days ago, but I'm still having crashes, but in a different way.  It's no longer when I load a new screen.  Now, the screen will load, but my character will be the only thing on a black screen, aside from some "blocks" of the background.

Maybe.  I didn't do it on purpose, but somehow I must have.

Troubleshooting / Screen tearing with FFNx installed.

So I recently started a thread about random crashes in-game, and somebody helpfully linked to something called FFNx, which I installed.  The game runs, and hopefully doesn't crash, but now there's pretty bad screen tearing whenever I walk around.  I read somewhere that you should modify a config file to read fullscreen=no, which I did, but it didn't fix the issue.  I also tried turning the FFNx config fullscreen=no, and that didn't help either.

EDIT: Oops, I'm a dummy, I forgot to turn on vertical sync, LOL.

Okay, so FFNx is installed.  Hopefully that fixes my issue.  Thanks!

So, firstly, should I download FFNx-Steam-v1.06 or FFNx-FF7_1998-v1.06?  I'm running FF7 on Steam, so I'm confused by the names.

This was it, thank you!

The problem is, unfortunately, that the crashes happen completely at random.  Well, not completely, it's always when loading a new screen, but it can be in the world map, after/before a fight, or just walking from one room to the other.  Of course, however, it does not always happen, and a place where it crashed once can work the next time.  I have a pretty big list of mods, and since the problem is difficult to replicate, I've been having a hard time narrowing down which mod it is/what's contradicting what.

Here's a Google Drive of APP.log and crash.cmp: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DUNGzGmPCqs3SVxng3kfCM7SCyKIV9qR

Troubleshooting / Having trouble finding a specific mod.

So I was watching this video (https://youtu.be/os2snB9em-0?t=204) where he plays against the Sweepe boss, I think, and the model is super detailed and cool looking.  He gives a link to another video where he lists all of the mods he's using, and I have a screenshot of the one I think it is (https://imgur.com/a/nFqF1Ut) but searching around has led me nowhere.  I'd love to either find that mod, or any others that redo the enemies that you guys might suggest me.  I'm using Ninostyle for the characters.

Right, but the game reads my B button like an A button and vice-versa, and my X button like a Y button and vice-versa.  I can change my bindings, it's just that the game's UI will show the wrong buttons since I'm using a gamepad that's read as XInput, and I'm using the Enhanced Stock UI, which has Xbox layout as default, and Nintendo gamepads are the opposite.  I hope what I'm saying makes sense.  I just wanted the UI to display the same buttons I'm pressing since I don't remember if there are any QTEs in FF7.  As of right now, I'll just have to make a mental note of the switching, but I have a feeling that I'll forget, LOL.

Oops, sorry, already was asked above.  I'd be willing to switch the buttons myself if I had any idea how, LOL.

This is a great mod!  Is there any way to "swap" the B/A and X/Y?  I'm trying to use an 8BitDo SN30/Switch Pro Controller, where the A/B is swapped, and the X/Y are swapped.

I've tried using DS4Windows, running 7th Heaven through Steam and re-binding the controls, and also using the XBox 360 Controller Fix https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14667.0 with both DS4Windows and Steam, and neither worked.  I also just got an 8Bitdo USB adapter and using D-Input works, but I'd like to be able to use the D-pad with it.  I've been searching around and reading that it's finicky if you want to do that, but I thought that maybe there would be a workaround.  I have gotten the Steam controller to work with one of the 7th Heaven built-in control settings, but the controls were all weird and wonky.  For example, the "cancel/run" button was L1.
