FF7 Tools / Re: [FF7] Text editor - Loveless (v2.5)
« on: 2021-05-17 16:54:54 »
Hi there,

I'm archiving all my old projects (Hojo, Loveless, Teioh) and I was wondering if someone still has the binaries of Loveless 2.0, 2.01, 2.1, and 2.3?
Moreover, I'm a bit surprised to see that it seems the last version of Loveless I published here was the 2.5 while I own a 2.6 version. Can someone confirm Loveless 2.6 has never been plublished?

Thanks for your help :)

Hi there,

I'm archiving all my old projects (Hojo, Loveless, Teioh) and I was wondering if someone still has the binary of Hojo 1.0 (the very first version)?
Moreover, I'm a bit surprised to see that it seems the last version of Hojo I published here was the 1.1 while I own a 1.1+ version. Can someone confirm Hojo 1.1+ has never been published ?

Thanks for your help :)

I mean, when you extract all the files from the lgp, then create a brand new one using those tools.

Hummm ok. Can you describe the exact procedure you follow (ex. "Open the X program", "Extract all fils", "Open Y program", "Import files", ...) ?
In order I do the same and encounter the problem to fix.

Did I also mention some option to hide text that isn't actually used in game?

Yep. Planned to implement it.

Great ;D There's a slight problem with the latest version though, it cant load newly compiled LGP files. I've created new ones with lgptools, Highwind and with Aali's program, but Loveless cant open any of them :|

What do you mean by "newly compiled LGP files" ? What do you perform on these files ?

Oh and, this might have been mentioned, but would it be possible to open the extracted and uncompressed level files, and be able to add new text?

Yes, I've already planned to open/import level files :)
But I don't think I will permit to add new texts.

Hi. It's been a while. I was very busy with my studies so... sorry for the silence.
I'm working back on Loveless. I've considered all the suggestions and will try to apply them.

I'll post a message when the new version will be ready :)

Hi,

> Theclad

Well, a find function is maybe a huge function for this little file isn't it ? There is a few texts...

Hi auxili160

Currently, it's not possible to edit enemies' formations. I've planned to add this feature in a future version of Hojo.

Thanks for using Hojo :)

Finally !
The new version is available !

2.5 changes :
- GUI adapted to Windows Vista
- help file removed
- fixed a bug which found texts in the las4_42 file (thanks to Tsetra)
- improved speed while generating text preview
- new "window resize" system
- fixed a bug which forbade you to use negative X and Y while moving a text window
- fixed a bug : if you center a window (horizontally and/or vertically) or if you 'Reposition' it, and then click 'Cancel', the position was saved, while it should be saved only if you click 'OK'.
- multilanguage support (you can create your own LNG file and please send me this new translation :))
- now texts list displays an icon (with number of windows) if the text is associated to a window
- threads support : GUI will no longer be "freezed" during long operations (open, save, replace all, ...)
- files comparison tool improved : now a better window is used. It displays more information about the files than before.
- files comparison tool improved : after doing a comparison between the opened file and another file, the texts which have been modified are now displayed in red. In order to see what you have already translated.
- fixed a bug which caused an error if you resized a window too small (less than 2 pixels width/height)
- "life" and "life2" files are now recognized as levels. There is no real change because they don't have any text... But you can see the level preview.
- fixed a bug which read bad texts in "nivinn3".
- files manager improved : now levels are displayed using their names and their descriptions. And it's possible to display all files, or only levels. Finally, it's possible to sort the list alphabatically (by name or description) or by number of texts.
- new feature : window colors manager. Now you can create "window colors profiles" and use them on the text peviewer.
- fixed a bug on the center buttons in the "Window resize" form.
- the random crashes seem to be fixed.
- fixed a bug which read bad texts (AKAO blocks) in some files.
- a new button on "find" window and "replace" window allows you to find the Previous occurence.
- new feature on "window modification" form : you can now resize the window using the profile 'Full screen'.
- invisible tags (like {SCROLLING}, {PAUSE 1}, {CHOICE}, etc) are now invisible on the text preview.
- now {CHOICE} tag is not visible (as other tags) and indent the text on the text preview, just like in the game.
- now {SPACED CHARACTERS} tag is not visible (as other tags) and create spaced characters on the text preview, just like in the game.
- now {BLINK} tag is not visible (as other tags) and displays characters in the current color and in grey on the text preview in order to simulate the blink effect (sorry but I can't create a real animation for now).
- now {MULTICOLOUR} tag is not visible (as other tags) and displays characters in each color (alternatively) on the text preview in order to simulate the rainbow effect (sorry but I can't create a real animation for now).

2 remarks :
- If you translate the LNG file into your language, please send me in order I put it in the ZIP file :)
- Submit your own windows colors ! The best ones will be added to Loveless 2.6 :)

Hi there !

I've released a new version of Hojo : 1.1.

Changes :
- now Hojo can recognize 3 new elements : Unknown (0x0F) (used by Cactuar for example), Death (0x20) (used by Zenthe for ex.), Sleep (0x22) (only used by Palmer) and Confusion (0x26) (used by SOLDIER : 3rd for ex) and 1 new effect : 'Nerver miss' (0x01) (always combined with 'Punch' element on 3 or 4 enemies).
- errors fixed in the LNG file

Download link :
http://www.ffheaven.fr/projects/Hojo 1.1.zip

Ooh.... and please, if you translate Hojo (by copying and editing the LNG file) please, send me your new LNG file :). It will be joined with the program. Thanks.

Is there a link to download BmcView ? I've found only one other topic but the link is dead...

Thanks

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: Item data format.
« on: 2008-02-16 16:55:09 »
Yes I've begun to write a little program which edits some features of items. I've changed Amount multiplier, Target mask, etc...
That why I don't understand.

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: Item data format.
« on: 2008-02-16 16:37:42 »
Sorry I made a mistake. I meant :

FEFF (1111111111111110) : item should appear in battle menu
FFFF (1111111111111111) : item should not appear in battle menu

I've put the value FFFF (1111111111111111) on the Potion, but it still appears in battle ???

On Zeio nut, the same thing :
default value (put by Square) is FEFF (1111111111111110) so the Zeio appears... I agree...
But if I replace this value by FFFF (1111111111111111) the Zeio still appears too...

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: Item data format.
« on: 2008-02-16 14:34:26 »
Another question :)

The Restriction Mask is :
FEFF : Battle appear    ====> 11111110    in binary
FDFF : Battle use        ====> 11111101    in binary
FBFF : Item menu use ====> 11111011    in binary

I've a problem with the "battle appear" value. I've tested on the Potion item but it does not work... On the Zeio nut too... the default value is 11111110 (so it should not appear in battle) but Zeio nut appears in battle item menu...

Why ?

Hi Akari

I was reading your item description and the one on QhimmWiki and I have a question :

Quote from: Akari
0x00 Unselectable Self
0x01 Selectable
0x02 Enemy By Default
0x04 Target All
0x08 Can Select Target One/All (if selectable enabled)
0x10 Only Party Target
0x20 ? ? ?
0x40 Hits Everyone
0x80 Random Target

Quote from: QhimmWiki
0x01    One Target
0x03    Unknown
0x05    Multiple Targets
0x07    Unknown
0x10    On Party Only

The Megalixir target mask is 0x05. It could be 0x04 + 0x01 which means Selectable + Target all but Megalixir does not allow us to select the target (only tagetting all).
And I didn't found any 0x04 targat mask in the items.

So how did you find this ?

Hi,
You're right, I told that... But I was very busy with my studies and have a lot of work. I've almost completed the new version, don't worry.
I only hope that one day I will find a better algorithm for background previewer...

I won't tell you it will be released in "X days" because if I can't release it.... but it will be in a few days or weeks.

Thanks for your interest about Loveless :)

That's a good remark dziugo. Indeed, I didn't think about this... I will implement this system but with the "%" (because I think there will be less "%2" in a texts than "#2" (to say "number 2")).
Thanks for this idea :)
