Crash during first battle
« on: 2014-08-15 12:46:28 »
Hi. My game keeps crashing during the first battle. The error message ays it has stored the codes for the crash moment somewhere in the computer, but when I search for it nothing comes up. Also, is there a way to change the controls or use a ps3 controller for the game. Any help would be appreciated. Crash appears to be upon attempting to choose an action for Cloud during the battle.

You will need to be more specific about your problem. What mods did you install, where is your game installed, what is your version? Did you use Bootleg? In that case, post your bootleg.log file, found in the Bootleg folder.

The crash dump is usually in the saves folder as crash.ff7.

I could not find any bootleg.log file by searching the computer or in the bootleg folder. it's .040 I guess I'll list the mods I don't have instead, since that list is shorter... My Avalanche GUI is still listed in red, no matter how many times I install it... I have no Facepalmer, no Trish (AKA Mike's)'s custom model pack 7z, no ff7 music install 15113, no Final Fantasy 7 Remix v-2-5-1, no magochocobo,  - and thats strange, no enhanced movies... no OSTRe.7z, Fixed LightingTextures,Fixed Missing Files, Fixed SpecialCases, Nightmare 7. None of that, and all the others. I'd like enhanced graphics for my movies though. And I remember that facepalmer was once required for my installation months ago before I gave up. I think I've probably downloaded all the mods... hehehe. Oh and do I absolutely need 30GB of space for it? I have like 28... been having trouble emptying my computer.

Can't find this one either by searching or in the saves folder.

Hi. It's been about a week with no responses... Can I get some help with this problem please? I've been hoping to use these mods for like a year.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

there are several crash.dmpatch files but none of them can be opened and there are many issues.

heres what the file entitled Crash 2 says when I open Microsoft Word:

Why are you installing the Avalanche GUI? If you're using Bootleg 040, then no where in the guide does it indicate to install it. Uninstall/delete everything and start over with a fresh install of the game. After that, go to Tifa's Bootleg and read the steps more carefully. It's all fairly well written out for you and with a video showing the process. If you still have issues, than do as the guide says and post your APP.LOG in that thread.

I know it doesn't request Avalanche GUI, but it shows in red in the required mods. That's why I was going for it. ANyways, delelted everything, but now the mod list is still saying I have them all downloaded... wha? :S very confused about how to refresh it to show that I have no mods downloaded, which is the case now. :D

It's okay if the mods are green. Download everything in red and put them into one folder. Don't extract them or run any of the .exe. If they are still red, then go reread the tutorial guide. There is even a question in bold about mods still being red that gets asked a lot.

I think I need one of those programs that lets you uplink to my computer so you can show me where I'm doing something wrong... I have followed all instructions to a tee and only one mod turned green... :o SO CONFUSED

I can't download Aali's custom driver or whatever... no links work, and there are some other files that depend on it. Am waiting on the mod team for a good link.

Mission accomplished. Step 8 has been perfectly performed, but all the mods are still red. Could it be because I don't have enough disc space? I mean, it says that you need 30 GB, but does that mean after dling the mods or before? if it's before, then I'm safe.

Read STEP 8...
It now just says, an unkown error has occurred. The program will be terminated.

Edit: tried again after some mods went green and this came up:

alright... I finally got all the mods green... but now when I start up bootleg, it says ff7.exe not found! where do I find it?! also, I can still play the unmodded game, like, the original download from square-enix.com
