Either you will need to reach out to me on the Discord, or you will need to post at least 5 posts here before DMs can be sent.

You need to install the English language version of the game.

...or reach out to me in a DM and beta test updated language support. Let me know what language.

7th Heaven / Re: Certain mods will not finish downloading
« on: 2020-04-03 20:54:12 »
Try downloading them direct from the web site http://7thheaven.rocks . The HQ FMVs mod is not hosted there, but the others are. It could be the HQ FMVs mod hit its quota limit. But, if you get the Media mod direct from the site, there's not really a reason to get the HQ FMV pack since Satsuki's FMV upscales are included in the Media mod...I'll just go out on a limb and say Satsuki's are probably better.

Ok, I'm reporting translation progress as 32% done. Sending for re-check to a friend.

Nice! If you wouldn't mind, when you have a preview ready of it, send my way so it can be implemented code-wise for preliminary testing while you continue working on translation.

Hello Guys!

When does 7th heaven work with the German version of Final Fantasy?

regards, Volker

I have a BETA version that can convert German game "out of the box" now if you want to test it. But you'd be the first to test so bugs are a possibility. Kaldarasha has also translated a bit of the UI into German as well, although it is still incomplete.

Hey, I personally can help to translate from french to english if someone needs

Why don't you and Hypnos get together? If you can find him.

Thanks for actually posting (at least partial) logs/profile details. That helps tremendously.

Completely Unrelated / Re: Real or Fake???
« on: 2020-04-01 12:32:44 »
I'm no expert video editor, but there does not seem to be anything out of place in that video. Everything is plausible from wind, hair, shadows, water, angle/plane, the bicyclists, etc.

I think people just have too much time on their hands lately and have nothing better to do than look for conspiracy theories in videos. On the other side of the fence, I'm noticing some folks not buying into the fear the media is perpetuating (or just getting tired of this) and choose to continue to live their lives. I'm seeing a lot more people being active in public places like beaches, hiking trails, parks, etc. because what else you gonna do? Everything's closed. And those folks that want to be active would not be into wearing masks, etc. So a populated beach/walking path does not surprise me.

With that said, if you or a loved one are at risk or has contracted it, do your part to stay safe like with any illness, and I pray you heal and recover without issue.

Those aren't critical problems with the exception of the...exception. So the first 2 are info/warnings related to file format issues and can be safely ignored. The unhandled exception is missing information from your log, but the most common problem is you might be seeing "out of memory" or "texture cache is full but nothing could be evicted!" above it somewhere. If neither of those show up, follow the advice of the error message which states to turn off your mods and re-enable them one at a time until the problem occurs again. Some mods only crash the game during a specific event or screen and you can temp turn them off, get past that moment, and turn them back on again.

If the case is a memory problem, there's really not much you can do right now. The problem is with memory leaks in the game driver. It fills up and then things get unstable and you'll experience a crash. You can turn on the "texture cache" option under the Advanced tab of the game driver, which will slow the progression of the problem, but it will not resolve it. I don't recommend turning it on either because once you do, you then have to deal with clearing the texture cache (button on that same tab in the bottom left corner) anytime you make a change to your mods (settings change or activate/deactivate). If you don't clear the cache, your old mods/settings get "stuck" because 7H will be using the copy from your cache from before, not current ones if you changed your mods. I hope that makes sense.

I don't see anything in your profile details that indicates a problem and you're not using Jusete's fields which make the problem worse (until a down-scaled version becomes available).

For now all I can recommend is: save early, save often so that in case you experience a crash, you don't lose much progress, and to wait for an update to the game driver which is being worked on now, but I don't have an ETA. If you've been playing a while and you have a big moment in the game coming up, close FF7 and relaunch just so the memory is cleared and reset.

What DLPB said. You comparing R05 and R06 are like apples and oranges. R06 includes its own custom Aali driver, among other things, that make it behave totally differently than R05.

236
Uh yeah from your profile it's pretty obvious what the problem was. So to clarify: 1) ff7.exe is NOT a Steam exe. Mods don't work with the Steam EXE, so you are using the patch exe included with 7H 2.0. 2) The controller add-on for ESUI of course requires ESUI to be active in order to work (I'm not sure why Chrysalis hasn't specified that in his mod code, I'll bug him about that). You had the controller add-on active (which modifies dialog to show the controller buttons), but not ESUI which it is dependent on, so of course your dialog broke.

Also ESUI is newer, fewer bugs, has more features and is updated more often than User Interface--you should keep ESUI on. You don't need to disable the User Interface mod--ESUI turns off the old ESUI that is built into User Interface automatically, but you can keep User Interface on for all the other cool stuff like avatars and backgrounds.

7th Heaven / Re: Ending movie is in French
« on: 2020-03-30 21:03:56 »
I found out the problem is the "Media - Qhimm Catalog" mod from 7th Heaven. Deactivating the mod fixes the problem but of course you lose all other benefits from the mod.

You can just turn off the movies in the config, you don't need to disable the whole mod. Then you can use the music and sound effects still.

Sorry I was a bit busy last week, didn't had the time to visit this topic. I've downloaded the XMA file and started to translate what I could. Like I said, I don't really know how to translate some terms like "Dump Variable" (and I don't know if there is a translation for that) so if you want I can translate everything I know and leave the technical terms untranslated.

Great! I can help you figure out other phrasing to make it less technical or synonyms that are easier to translate. Feel free to DM me on the Qhimm Discord if you want (probably easier to chat that way and get quick responses).

FF7Music is deprecated. The drivers include ogg support, or just disable them in the config to use midi. Also no need to do all these steps manually for that matter. Even if you don't want to mod your game, I'd suggest downloading 7th Heaven 2.0 and click Play Without Mods. That'll do all the manual stuff for you automatically in a few seconds. After that, continue to use 7H as a launcher, or a modding tool, or not at all, but after that you can run ff7 and you don't need to do anymore manual stuff.

Troubleshooting / Re: 7H2.0 error after connection loss

On your terrible connection. That's the root cause of the crash. If you want, go to the web site and download the mods using a download manager instead.

It's hilarious and so damn catchy! I could watch it 100 times.

"YARR HARR fidelty-dee..."

OK I downloaded those thanks!

How can I automatically count  all the translatable lines with notepad++ so as I am able to give a percentage of my work? I have translated 100 translatable lines so far...

I'd just estimate based on what line you're on ou of total lines, because there are a lot of extra spaces, especially between sections, plus some lines are just comments.

7th Heaven / Re: Menu bug with ff7_mo and ff7_bc exes
« on: 2020-03-30 01:38:19 »
Probably the "no battle boxes" that's with the FFX style battle menu. The trade-off for losing out so much from 7H 2.0 is not with it imo, but to each their own. Good luck.

But ESUI has no battle boxes/transparent menus as an option. With having same features and more options than r03, a multitude of bug fixes, the controller button support, etc., There's no reason to be glued to the old MO anymore, so I'm legitimately wondering why anyone would still prefer mo over esui?

244
What do you mean stock ff7.exe?
Im using the only one 7th heaven will recognise.

Screen:
https://ibb.co/7vrZdLT

7h uses any exe you specify except a Steam one. Are you using the beacause/r03 mod? What are your profile details? Click settings>profiles>eyeball icon, and we might be able to see what is contributing to the problem.

What specifically do you like about the r03 MO better?

246
its funny i never understood why this was changed considering on PS1 you ONLY had the D-Pad

It wasn't changed. Difference in hardware between PS1/PC and controller support was very different in 1998 on PCs.

247
You don't need to clear the texture cache unless you're using texture compression (which can delay--but not fix crashing). Mipmaps being off may help delay your crashing also, yes. Remako is fine to use (it's not using insanely high resolution upscales).

The current version of the game (Aali) driver is simply poor at memory management (so was the original Aali driver, it's just more pronounced now). The best thing you can do is save often and if you crash, restart the game. You could go 30 minutes or 7 hours, it depends on so many variables. We're investigating the issue and hope to improve the stability in the next 7H 2.0 update.

A few hr into a new game and kept noticing the sfx/music volumle would reset every time i relaunched game so i went to setting> game launcher and set them to what i wanted and lost music. setting it back to 100 did nothing, tried reseting to default didn't help. changing the file in Media (mod) did nothing. still have sfx, but 0 music.
Running ff7 directly in steam also has no music. Disabling music/sfx mods (Media and Bonez') also gives no music.

Sounds like you broke it pretty good. Have you checked your audio output device settings in Settings>Game Launcher (specifically your sound device)? There's a test audio button to the right of it also.

I'm stuck in quarantine right now, waiting to receive a call from work. I have no programming knowledge. I'm only able to translate text, which I merely adore btw. Sorry...

Who said you needed programming knowledge? Not needed. You just translate text in language xml files as stated.

250
Your text/font shouldn't be messed up unless you're not using the stock ff7.exe.
