FF7 Windowed mode under XP, French version
« on: 2005-06-05 13:46:58 »
Hi there

I've got a french version of FF7

I'm under XP (sp2, geforce 6600GT)

I've installed the game normally (withtout directX, directshow and midi synth)

I've installed the TrueMotion2 Codec, the "beta1 patch" from eidos support site.
I've also installed the "nvidia patch (the french version)", and clicked the NVIDIA checkbox +TNT

The game run corretly in 640x480 with D3D hardware acceleration.
No crash at all except when I do "alt tab" twice time, when I go back in the game, and if I have a fight, the game crash.

But, I've tried some patchs to run FF7 in windowed mode and no ones work :(

Windowed mode is important for many reasons:
I got a 1280 capable screen, so it can be cool to play in a window and got my web browser opened to see the game's solution...

I've also read post on this forums who says that when playing in windowed mode, the game is automaticaly in 32-bit mode, and the FSAA no longer draw little square.
Also, I've seen some screenshots with FSAA activated, and its quite nice. (want the same)

So can anyone tell me the way to go?
Is enabling windowed mode require something other than a hex and registry editor?

Maybe the patch doesnt work because it can't find the needed hex value, and so can't change it. (coz I got a french version)
So if it isnt well complicated, can the "author of the windowed mode patch" tell me which things I need to modify?

Thank you very lot in advance!

If I solve my problem, I'll make a summary post on a big french forum :-)

And very sorry for my fucking english :(
