Scripting and Reverse Engineering / FF8 Battle Music
« on: 2004-06-16 07:59:54 »
You mean you haven't been annoyed by "Man With the Machine Gun" enough so you want to be turned into a drooling retard that can't move anyhting but their head and arms? I used to like the song too until I did lots of leveling up in the dream world.  And I never wanted to hear that song again. It's still gives me chills down my spine when I hear it although I don't mind hearing the PSX version of the song. It's almost another song entirely!! It sound's so much better! In fact, the whole game is lacking audio quality while the graphics are much better. It's like they both suck where the other version of it rule! I also prefer the PSX version because it comes in Dolby Surround compared to the PC's stereo.

F you man! :)  I don't even buy games that cost that much!!  I usually look like a homeless guy rummaging through bargain bins and used game sections. I don't need ebay unless I'm looking for something really special and rare but I usually don't have enough money for much of anything since I'm still not old enough to get a job so I don't need it. I usually find rare things at the malls and game stores in my area because we seem to usually get stuff 2 months late. And we also have a lot people who sell rare stuff at the high population areas of this place. We have a very broad range of people living here too (very poor to very rich) so that means since the high population areas have a lot of poor people living there, and a lot of rich people sell there due to the high amounts of stores, the items are very cheap in price!! 8) And might I add, I didn't know "patients" were virtues... I just thought they were all sick!

You're not the only one who doesn't use ebay... I HATE egay!! There really is no point in buying stuff on there because you have to wait to get it! If you go to a store, you get it right away! And having the inner child that I have, GIMME!!!!!! :D

Have you tried running the same res movies as the ones that you're using when you actually played the game? Or in fullscreen?

Oh and by the way, there is no one ultimate CD destroyer. It depends if it's a cheap CD too.

MY GOD!!! Just get a PSOne and a copy of FF7 at Gamestop or Babbages for around $60 USD and be done with it!
PSOne - $50 USD
FF7 - $5-10 USD

I've had this problem before when I was using an old cd drive (16X) and the CD wasn't being spun fast enough for the videos. I solved my problem by junking the old CD drive for a new one. (52X) I dunno but that's how I solved my problem! I could never get that far though... the drive would stop responding after 30 seconds into the intro and I would have to do a hard shutdown (You know! When you have to unplug the godamn fucking thing from the wall!) the whole system would freeze up! My guess is that the size of the Bink videos are too big for the drive to buffer in time with the processor and thus you get total meltdown.

General Discussion / Favorite FF game

Well, if you actually paid attention to the game instead of just pressing X to get rid of all of the dialog, you would know that there were many sidequests such as the Odin quest, Tonberry, PuPu the alien, Brothers, The monster at the lake, Card queen, Chocobo Quest, theres some more I think. Minigames, well, there wasn't much except for triple triad... but the game in my opinion was the best. Then again most of us do like the first Final Fantasy we ever played the most. I'm no exception. The storyline was pretty good although there were some mistakes such as the parade scene. Oh well, it's not like it affected the gameplay. I personally didn't mind the junction system like other people did. I actually liked the fact that you lowered your stats when you used magic that was in your stock. It made it more fun than just using one thing over and over. Example: In FF7 after you got Knights of Round, did you really use anything else? At least in FF8's battle with Ultimecia and Greiver, you had to use different types of magic and GF's to win. I remember when I was fighting Sephiroth in FF7, I didn't use much except for Turbo Ether, white Materia, and Knights of Round.

I think I've got that... and it's at http://bin.mypage.sk/FILES/Save.zip

what happened to no rules??

*Side note: It's fun to resurrect stuff that's really old! I did it to some forum (3.5 years) and got banned. But of course they lick !3^115 @ doing stuff like banning people so all I had to do was get a new name! All they did was make it impossible to login under that username and I still bother the poor !3^574r|)5 occasionally. :D

General Discussion / Fun with FF8 Videos!
« on: 2004-05-22 02:00:48 »
That was fun. Put on some awesome music to the background of FF8 videos and just watch it put on a show of it's own! My favorite was playing Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" to the background of the "Dancing with Rinoa" clip. It was awesome! It was so powerful that it made me cry! :weep:  I'm sure you people have had some strong memories attached to some of your favorite songs(that's why they're your favorite songs! :D )

mine would definitely have to be Final Fantasy VIII!  :D
i can relate to the character's feelings depending on mood and you never get tired of the game. the sidequests are fun. and the characters are more down to earth. Garden=school relation. storyline was great. musical score was great. ending was amazing. high replay value. i could go on forever. it's all you want in an RPG. 8)

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / FFVII Crashed My HD!!!
« on: 2004-04-19 00:29:42 »
hey jari, i've had the same problems with my old motherboard! it would kill any drive attached to it except the hard disk. i went through about 5 floppy drives, 3 cdrw drives, and 4 dvd drives. then i got super pissed and sent it to the dreaded closet of no return! (the closet of no return is my old bedroom that is filled to the absolute edge with stuff that i don't use anymore.) i now own a much better computer that i have referred to in my last few posts.

General Discussion / Favorite Final Fantasy Soundtrack
« on: 2004-02-29 00:12:41 »
mine is ff8's because nobuo uematsu made such a great soundtrack in such little time for this game. (i think it was 8 months) and because of the memories i have of the game, not to mention the great storyline (although some people don't think so). no offense to any ff7 fans but i personally think that the ff7 storyline was cut short due to:
1) the ginormous booklet that made only 3 discs fit thus only 3 discs to put the story on. although i think the big booklet was in gran turismo and three discs only fit in ff7 because that was all they wanted.
2) it seems like it is one story but switches to something else mid-story at an undistiguishable part.
3) the was kinda slow all the way through and didn't pick up until it was too late.
***sorry for going off topic***

Troubleshooting / TTG (secret)
« on: 2004-02-01 13:38:39 »
what? you all are crazy! i was the first person who found the settings.dat cheat! it was why i got into these boards to begin with. it was my first post on these boards but i think Qhimm already deleted it. i remember the topic like yesterday. i said about the cheat and someone replied about if only they could get a card back with it and then someone said my user icon was too big and that qhimm would delete it if he saw it it and he could disable them quite easily and finally qhimm deleted my first icon that was of the preview of final  fantasy VIII and now after changing through 3000 icons i have this one.
(longest run-on sentence ever!)

General Discussion / Triple Triad Settings
« on: 2003-05-04 15:09:32 »
are you aware that the settings.dat file is one of the most important file and holds every single setting including your card deck in triple triad gold? without it you would have to start from scratch! so in conclusion if anybody has a great deck of cards in triple triad gold could you please send me a copy of your settings.dat file?
