OK, thx for explaining that.
I was hoping that it wasn't a bug that would cause them to suddenly show up in the PHS (before I actually get them) if I saved a change and then started the game from there.
But if that's just how the game does it,
then I feel better.

Man this program just saved my butt.
I screwed up on the date sequence affection values,
and didn't notice till I had gotten the buggy.
As a warning, you HAVE to get Yuffie BEFORE listening to the old guy at fort condor and agreeing to help them, or Yuffie won't get the 4 points for those 2 options. Sure that leaves you without a save point (after the midgar zolem) before you DO find her, but it's the way you have to play apparently.

Actually I was talking about the first tab "Party"

It had Yuffie and Cid's pictures in the box before I got them.
And I am using your EXE-alpha release.

I'm quite happy with the way this program is.
I know having things clutter up the registry can be annoying, but sometimes it can't be helped.
After all, you can always go into the registry and delete the key folder later.
Though I'd recommend making sure that you're deleting the right one. (or ones)
I have a game that puts it's SAVE files in the registry.
Imagine how annoying THAT was to find out.

its nothing lost, its just how the program finds where the save0 file is located. its an annoyance for those who don't want to manually set the location of this file (its in the black chocobo exe file btw)

I'm trying to figure out that PSV workaround, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.
I can't get the "fmcb" thing I need.
I wish there was another way of getting saves back to my ps3 V_V
That fmcb thing is a method of running PS2 Homebrew. It does not require physically modding any hardware, just modding software on the memory card.
If you so desire, you can send your memory card to me, and I'll put FMCB and uLaunchELF on it. This would probably be the easiest way for you to get it, because in order to install FMCB, you need to already have a way to run PS2 homebrew. I already have FMCB set up on my PS2, so it's just a matter of hitting an install button to do it for yours.
So I've been told.
That actually makes me VERY relieved for my hardware.
My game stations are the most important things to me, ever.
(though that may sound pathetic)

I'd love to take you up on that offer...
(because knife-swapping my gameshark disk didn't work and I have no other options)
But you'd have to live in my city so we could meet up.
This is because I don't have the money to send anything anywhere.
I don't have a job, and my parents are as broke as I am.
(not to mention paranoid - wouldn't let me borrow the car to go to the post office to mail something that belongs to me, anyway)

For me it looks like they use a software to play PS1 games on a PS3,but the first models contained the PS2 CPU/GPU and later a MIPS64 emulator + GPU.
Your PS3 is powerful enough to emulate things like N64, a DOS PC,a Wii
a Saturn and a dreamcast but as we know Sony included a hypervisor(something BSD like that denies to access hardware from your programs).
I figured it was powerful enough to do it.
Pitty about that stupid BSD thing >.< Grr

As for copyright, the ones for download on PSN cost money, only work on the machine that purchases them, and are licensed by the owners of all the necessary copyrights, so it's all completely legal.

I guess when I heard that the slim ones wouldn't be able to play the old playstation games, the guy forgot to specify PS1 or PS2. Thanks for the info.
I guess buying it off PSN is good for you, go for it.
But if your HDD brakes, or something else happens, you'll loose the copy and they probably won't let you download it again without paying the fee a secong time. (alot of PC game companies are like that when you have to reinstall the OS and get a new IP address - or only have a certain number of free installs)
I'd rather have the original disk. It prevents stuff like that from happening.
Plus, only the games that get listed by the companies that own them, can be downloaded.
For EX: I bet you can't find an abscure title like "Kya: Dark Lineage" (one of my favorates) ^.^
And how about "Yu-gi-oh: Forbidden Memories" (can you find that one on PSN? )

I was under the impression that the "slim" PS3's can't play PS2 or PS1 disks.
(unlike the fat ps3, that can read ps2 and ps1 disks)
And PSN may be an alternate way of doing it (though it seems to me that they are braking their own copy-right rules - unless you have to pay for it anyway) but I'd bet you that there are still games that I like that AREN'T in their list of ones you can download. (feel free to correct me though it would get away from the topic of this thread so we would have to talk in PM's instead)

you don't need to physically modify anything to make this work (look at the work around again there are links. for more info)
