Ughh, not working for me, i followed those simple instructions you provided, extracted the download to the "mods" folder in my FF7 game directory, which now has a battle folder, and inside that, all the files which came with the download. I clicked on them and they open up, but when i run the game, it looks just the same as before, my pc isn't that new, so could it be a requirement that my pc needs in order to run this mod?

Is your path: mods\Qhimm\battle
or
mods\battle?

The first one is the correct path but the "Qhimm" Part is an example, it can be named anything.

Have you also set up aali's driver correctly? Open up ff7_opengl.cfg and find where it says "mod_path" and change it to what the folder in the "mods" folder is called. For example mine would be mod_path = Qhimm.

Also, if you're talking about the world map, that's a serperate download on the first page. Also remember that this is work in progress (WIP) so not all battle scenes/textures on the world map have been completed.

No, just uncheck the "Read Only" flag under "Properties" of these files.

I did that and it still didn't work. Any other ideas?

Sorry if this has been answered before but I get the error message when I try to patch:

Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle\scene.bin' is denied.

It also happens for the other two .bins that require patching.

I have Aali's driver and FF7music installed, do these affect the patch?

Thanks.

Just downloaded this link and it turned out to be the battle scene enhancement lol :(

That's why I was asking before, I thought it was an update for the battle scenes.

World maps looks great.  :)

Can I ask what's released in the newest version?

Thanks for all your hardwork.

Mine's pretty much grind to a halt; 5kb/s. I'll guess i'll wait until tomorrow when hopefully somebody has uploaded a mirror *Hint hint *.

In all seriousness though, great job. I've scrolled through the images you had up before and it looked incredible. This is what I've been waiting for the most, I know it isn't completed but the amount of work you've put in and the 215 backgrounds you've done thus far is something I must thank you for.

I look forward to future releases  :).

Yeah you'll have to change your videopath on your register.

Use Regedit and search for Final Fantasy VII :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII

Or for x64 system :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII

And change the value MoviePath to this one :
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\Data\Movies\

Or for x64 sytem :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\Data\Movies\

That must be the folder where you've placed new movies.

Thanks a lot. I had trouble because the installer was creating a new Final Fantasy VII folder in the Square Soft, Inc folder and so it obviously couldn't find them.

Great mod, the PC videos are horrendous.

I've installed it to the FFVII directory but it still seems to be showing the original movies from the disk. Is there a specific directory or anything else i have to do to get it to work?

Is this for PC and if it is, where do you put the files?

Thanks.

Silly question, but where do you put them so that they play in game ;D?

Troubleshooting / Battle and field background mods
« on: 2011-03-24 19:42:28 »
I was wondering if there is a near-completed or completed battle and field background mod that enhances these two things on this forum? I know there are a couple that are still ongoing and I'll be sure to check them out when they're done but I was wondering if there were any that have already been completed or are near completion.

I'm new to FF7 modding and i'm really enjoying all the mods that have been made for this game.

Cheers.
