Title: Strange limit break problem

I'm having a problem I haven't seen mentioned on the forums.  The only limit breaks I can access are the ones the characters were originally equipped with.  Or at best only the level 1's.  I get messages that the advanced limit breaks are available (Meteorain learned, etc.) but they are never listed during battle.  

I have Cloud at level 32 and can still only use Braver and Cross Slash.  Yuffie can only use her first level 1 limit break Greased Lightning.  All characters have this problem.  

Does anyone have any ideas?


I'm using a Dell with XP
3.0 GHz Pentium 4
Radeon X300 video card
2 G of RAM
I'm using software rendering, and playing in the "window", which improved the graphics without a patch enough for me to tolerate.
I have the Chocobo patch installed.

You have to go to the menu and select "Limit," then choose a character and change their level.
