I forgot how much i like this song! What is your signal chain looking like, it doesn't sound like you are double tracking any of those guitar parts? This just reminded me that I haven't even touched my Cubase 8 upgrade, i really need to blow the dust off of this expensive thing
I'm just going direct-in and I'm not doubling anything and I use an M-Audio FW410 for my inputs. I might run the signal back through my Marshall Head to get a nice 'real' guitar sound to fill things out. So far, I have condensed the original orchestration into 5 main parts (aside from percussion) I wanted to treat this like the orchestration and there's only one section I take any -real- artistic liberties in.
4 Guitar tracks - all are different parts:
Gtr 1 - Rhythm Track
Gtr 2 - Lead Theme
Gtr 3 - Harmony 1 - High Lead
Gtr 4 - Harmony 2 - Low Lead
Bass - Played on keys lol I think I may have overcompensated and made the bass too low end-oriented... you can't hear any of it's articulation in crappy speakers, but it thumps on a decent system. I would have actually played the parts, but I took my Bass apart to re-do the wiring.
Drums - Played on keys - this was my inspiration:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr-Cr999fy0I think I'm going to mix things up a bit and add some keys and take away some guitars on the repeat - give it a reason to be as long as it is, etc.
