That certainty is being taken under consideration. I may make the back story so as Tifa was taken to town where Barret would of been at. Maybe when I get a boss battle involving Barret to work they'll remember seeing each other. Think that that could work the part about Tifa staying there for a little while where Barret loses his arm and stuff and he asks Tifa to take Marlene away before the town burns away? Actually I think i'm getting an idea how to flush certain elements of this new story. I don't want to give it away so it'll be a secret though most of you probably what i'm thinking of doing.
